1900 Park Fare - Cinderella's Gala Feast

OK, so this is all new to me. I had to call and change from lunch to dinner at the SCI-FI Diner and asked about the Princess Storybook Breakfast. They told me that PSB was closed from Sept 4 - 15. I was really hoping to get into the PSB, but the closest I could get was a 1900 Park Fare dinner with Cinderella.

Does anyone have any experience/reviews for this or should I cancel and go with something else?

Thanks.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

Park Fare Lane has the best breakfast buffet at WDW (IMHO). It was always our choice for a character meal. Mary Poppins and Friends are there.
I have never done the Cinderella dinner, but if the food is the same quality as the breakfast, it'll be good.

It's not as chaotic as Chef Mickey and I've heard some negative reviews of the Princess Breakfast in Norway, so I think you'll enjoy it.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

It's been awhile since I have been there (1997), but it was a great buffet. If my DD were still princess crazy, I would definately go there again.

Ya, my 8 year old DD's fav princess is Jasmine. That's why I was hoping to get into the PSB. But she still likes them all, so this won't be too bad, I guess.

Same here! The strawberry soup is absolutely delicious! This is actually one of my favorite character meals. The breakfast is wonderful, too.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

Thanks for the input.

Oh, and this is acutally the dinner that we're going to and not the breakfast. I was told that Cinderella is there and sometimes Prince Charming along with a couple of other characters.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

We had breakfast at 1900 for the first time this year and loved it. Mary Poppins sits at the entrance while Alice, Mad Hatter, Eorr and Pooh roam around. The food was fantastic and there were plenty of choices. Listen for the clock to chime and take a gander, it's neat.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

Does anyone know if adults can eat something from the kid's menu? I'm not too keen on some of the adult entrees. Some of that stuff is way too fancy for me.

Also, being that this is buffet style, how often do the menu offerings change?

Thanks.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

Not sure how often the menu changes, but it looks just like it did when we went 1 1/2 years ago. The food is great. We saw Cindy, Prince Charming and the two mice from the story. I want to say there was one more character there. I will have to go back and look at our pictures.

DD loved it, and I would recomend it to anyone.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

As long as you're paying for it, I don't think they really care whose mouth it goes into.

I'm assuming what you mean is that you will be paying the appropriate prices for the members of your party, but you also just want to choose some things from the Children's Buffet.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

We have done the 1900 Park Fare dinner and the PSB at Norway in Epcot. The food is SO much better at 1900! It was probably one of the best meals we have had. The difference (other than the food) is who your child really wants to see. At 1900, we saw Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy, Perla and the Fairy Godmother. At Norway, we saw Jasmine, Mulan, Belle, Snow White and Aurora. Norway was a family style meal, whereas 1900 was a buffet. You are not rushed at 1900 but I felt a little rushed at Norway. The major drawback (in my opinion) about 1900 is that it can take anywhere from 1 - 1 1/2 hours for all the characters to make it to your table. This was somewhat of an issue having two young DD who don't like to just sit and wait.

In short, I would keep the 1900 Park Fare if you want better food -- Norway if you want a larger variety of characters.

Re: 1900 Park Fare

We did both 1900 PArk Fare (dinner) and Norway last year. I agree that the food was MUCH better at Park Fare. Not to mention being at the Grand Floridian!!! We dressed 4 yr old DD in her Cinderella Costume and got some of the best pictures of her with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Fairy Godmother was in the entry area and Cindy, Prince and the 2 mice walked table to table and took time with each one. Norway was good just b/c of the variety of princesses. Although during the day at Epcot we were able to see each of those princesses tucked away in different areas of World Showcase. Jasmine was inside at Morocco, Snow White was in front of England, Belle was in the courtyard in France and the best and hardest princess to find: Sleeping Beauty (she wasn't even at the Norway breakfast) quietly posing for pictures in the walkway b/w Epcot and the Beach Club.
Also, yes you can eat from the kids buffet, its right next to the adult selections.

Definately keep Park Fare and enjoy the GF while waiting for your table!
