Feedback on Boatwright's

Has anyone been to Boatwright's lately? We tried to get PS for Le Cellier and were not successful. I am looking for another alternative for a good steak. Shula's is a bit pricey, but I'm not ready for the Ponderosa either. I checked the menu at Boatwright's and they seem to fit the bill but cannot find any reviews in the forum. All other suggestions welcome as well.

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

We haven't been to Boatwright's in a few years but always loved it. I don't think we ever ordered stead there, so I don't know how it would be but everything else was wonderful. One of my DC friends (WDWNutCase) says the Yachtsman Steakhouse is the best and she and her DH make that one of their first stops. Maybe others will have more info for you. Whatever you do, and especially if you go to Boatwright's, be sure to let us know how it was.

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

In all of our trips to POR, we went to Boatwrights for the first time in May. The service we received was so poor, we didn't even stay to order the food....and then when we complained to the manager, he gave us the "what am I supposed to do about it" attitude. We won't be going back there.

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

We were there last Fall and had very good luck. One dinner and one breakfast and were very happy with everything. I just cannot remember details. I think my DH had something in the way of steak (picky steak eater).
Not a bad choice to make

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

How about the Concourse Steak House at the Contemporary. I understand it's pretty good food, reasonably priced. The only downside is that it's situated close to Chef Mickey's - so maybe it would be a bit loud. - but what at WDW isn't loud?

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is super yummy though expensive. My two best steaks that I have eaten at WDW were at Yachtsman and California Grill.

I have only had breakfast at Boatwrights so can't help you with the steak there. However, I have eaten at the Concourse Steakhouse. My mom and I thought it was just okay for the prices charged and it is very loud because of its proximity to Chef Mickey's.

We're trying Boatwrights for the first time on our October trip. We hope to see BOB perform in the bar that night...I've heard it makes for a great evening!!

I also vote for Yachtsman Steakhouse; their food and service are very good. But I also give a thumbs up for the Concourse Steak House, especially for the view.

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

I enjoyed Boatwrights, but if you really want a good steak and can't get into Le Cellier (my favorite WDW restaurant), you might try Artist Point at WL. GREAT steaks and salmon, although it is a bit $$$

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

It is just 'Ok' here IMO. Nothing special at all. I find the service has always been so so and only eat here on our 1st night as by the time we get settled etc it's usually too late to think about leaving the resort straight away. I have to say, the waiters(ress) seem to always to busy standing around involved in their own personal conversations to be able to serve and give the customer the service they deserve. Anyone else found this?
But you know, the food itself is good and of course because POR is just sooooo lovely, we always let them get away with it.

Re: Feedback on Boatwright's

Thank you to all of you who gave me feed back on this. Based on your comments we are going to try the Yachtsman this time. I'll be sure to report in when we get back

Actually I did notice them standing around, but since our server was great we didn't have a problem with this.

And true, it isn't a *must do* kind of a place, we went there on night because we just wanted to eat and collapse into our beds. But the food is good and there's BOB THE ENTERTAINER and the lovely grounds to stroll through on your way out or when waiting to be seated.

WE have a lot of those "want to collapse" on our beds kind of days!

Dopey, come with me in Dec. $730 for 7 nights at POR. We'll go see Bob together.
