Victoria and Alberts

OK, good news!! Hubby wants to add another day to our trip and is considering leaving DD at The Cub's Den and going to V/A . Has anyone gone there? What do you think? How formal is it? Is the food good?

Hello Tiggerfan74, We have been to V/A's twice and thought it was excellent both times. It is fancy for sure, I wore a sport coat no tie and there were others like myself. But also, I have seen some guys in tux's. But as I said more with sport coats and we all were fine. The food, nothing Way different, but things we have not had before. Portions seem small but after seven courses we were full. Everything is done with a flair, Victoria takes care of you and Albert takes care of your husband. Desserts were awesome and if you like good coffee you try theirs with dessert. There is a wine selection for every course, but we just asked V/A for a good bottle of one for the evening. We are just regular folks and we don't do something like this often, but we loved it, and would do it again!

Re: Victoria and Alberts

Franco54, thanks for the reply. I am still considering it.That is interesting about Victoria taking car of the women and Albert taking care of the men.

Re: Victoria and Alberts

V&A is outstanding! You need to wear a jacket, as the other poster recommended; if you call and ask about the dress code, they will tell you the same thing. You should not try to go in shorts and polo shirt directly from the park, for example. Dress nicely, but you need not go formal.

The menu is a tasting menu, but it should fill you up. It was almost too much food for me, but I'm not one to eat huge meals. I can honestly say that I've never eaten a better meal anywhere. The atmosphere is great--there was a harpist when we went, and the service is as good as it gets. I assume you know the price, so if you are willing to pay what it costs for such a high quality meal, then I say by all means go for it. I don't think you'll regret it.

Re: Victoria and Alberts

But is it worth $95.00 per person??????? And if not, does anyone have any other suggestions for our dinner alone?

Yes, I think that is how they serve you, or it could be the other way around. But for the cost, the way we looked at it was how many times do we get to do something like this? The harpist, the servers, the food all is right with the world for 2+ hours.

I think it is, yes, but many would not think so. I've heard some comment that they felt the food at California Grill or Napa Rose (in the Grand Californian at Disneyland) was just as good or better. I disagree strongly, though I love those other two restaurants. I guess the value vs. cost can only be answered by you. My opinion is that Victoria and Alberts is an order of magnitude beyond anything else in WDW (or most anywhere else, for that matter). My budget only allows me to go occasionally. But it is a treat I look forward to very much.

Re: Victoria and Alberts

Let me amend that last--I didn't mean to say that V&A was an order of magnitude beyond restaurants anywhere else, but rather that it is better than any other restaurant I've been to. I live in the Seattle area, and there is a restaurant that comes close called Rover's.
