Re: DTD restaurants

There are great restaurants in DTD. Portabello's is one of our favorites. There is also Fulton's which was very nice, the service there was fantastic. There is also Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe and House of Blues. If you are looking for a nice romantic dinner I say Portabello's or Fulton's.

Re: DTD restaurants

My wife and I have been to Portobello - Its a good one and I recommend it. Its more traditional Italian - Not your run of the mill Italian - TONS BETTER THAN OLIVE GARDEN.

I'm not a Seafood person so I can not comment on Fultons.

I can definetly say pass on Bongo's.

Being in NJ there is a Planet HOllywood in NY. Not sure about HOB or Rainforest. We have them here near Chicago and both are good but if you can hit one near home I prefer doing something different while out of town.

Re: DTD restaurants

I've only been to Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood. I didn't really like Planet Hollywood much, but Rainforest Cafe is still one of my favorites. I just love the feeling that you're eating in a rainforest... I'm a nerd, what can I say. :)

You could always skip dinner and have a big dessert at Ghirardellis!

Re: DTD restaurants

We've enjoyed Planet Hollywood a few times and Earl of Sandwich is awesome if you are looking for something quick and a bit cheaper.

Re: DTD restaurants

Fulton's was very good. We enjoyed it quite abit, but we are seafood lovers. My only suggestion, do not go there the night you arrive after waking a 11 month up a 5 am to catch a plane and spend the day at the park. Not a fun evening.

Re: DTD restaurants

If you love good seafood & don't mind spending the money I definitely say Fulton's. We love it & are going again in October.

Re: DTD restaurants

I thought the Rainforest Cafe was a fun atmosphere for my kids, but I cannot recommend the food there. Fulton's has been mentioned, and it was overpriced for the quality, in my opinion. Among those mentioned I think Portabello Yacht Club is the best. Good quality and good service, when we were there.

Re: DTD restaurants

If you are looking for something close to Cirque, then try Wolfgang Puck's. I have eaten at both the take away and the sit down, both were excelent. The take away had great pizza, and was quite cheap. Upstairs, in the sit down, is wonderful, but really, really expensive. It has been a while, but I remember it being over $100 for the two of us.

Re: DTD restaurants

I'll second the Wolfgang Puck recommendation. I forgot about that place when I posted before. The food is quite good. In fact, I was surprised at how good the sushi was at Wolfgang Puck's. In my opinion, it was better than what I had in one of the Japanese places in Epcot. As an aside, I put in a plug for the sushi at Calfornia Grill. It is actually the best sushi I've had at WDW--but now I'm going off topic, sorry.

Re: DTD restaurants

my vote would be for Fultons. they have more than just seafood. their steaks are good as well. but my fav is the king crab claws the meat just falls out of the claw.

Re: DTD restaurants

I am gonna be the odd one out....we absolutely love House of Blues. Great prices, service and food. I will tell you that it can be loud at times but it didn't bother us much. Plus it is right across from Cirque and DQ.

Re: DTD restaurants

We HATED Planet Hollywood. During a week stay at WDW, it was the least "magical" dining experience.

Rainforest Cafe is a nice venue, kind of spendy though. Earl of Sandwhich is delicious, but more a lunch time faire.
