dining plan snacks

I asked in another thread but think it might have gotten lost...

How strict are they on what snacks you get as the snack portion of their dining plan?
I had read on another website that someone had gotten chocolate mouse at a pastry shop in Epcot as her snack, but in looking over the snack options it appears you gert either a scoop of popcorn, designated drink, piece of fruit, or a bag of chips. So it made me wonder if they make exceptions or not on the snacks.

Re: dining plan snacks

I think that what the prescribed dining plan is, it should be. Why is it that there is always someone who wants to squeeze out just a little bit more rather than except what's offered.

From what I have read, this dining plan is a great offer. Let's please not put the CMs into the possition to have to say NO.

If the envelope is pushed beyond the limit, this dining plan might go away and then no one benefits from it.

I really hope you weren't seeing my post as an attempt to exploit the dining plan. That really was not my intention. I was however trying to get a better idea as to what exactly is included so that I would know when it came down to chosing a snack. The resteraunts listed as snack possibilities confuse me....are they listed because they sell drinks; as that is the only thing on the menus that look close to the supposed snack options. If something else on the menu is a snack I would want to know as I am a tad confused about it. I totally agree that the dining plan is a great offer and am really just trying to get a better handle on it.
Sure didn't mean to offend anyone!

Re: dining plan snacks

My suggestion would be to get yourself a copy of the brochure:

http://www.disneycentral.com/images/diningplan.pdf

You will note that there are many places on the list that serve other things that the prescribed snacks. I would just ask what you can get for your snack. Don't ask for something particular, just in general, what are my options?

I know for me, I will most likely just use them on drinks or fruit in the parks. I buy those anyways, so no big deal.

I am not offended, just wanted to put my 2 cents in here. There is always some smart allek around who thinks it's a challenge to beat the price, that's all.
I am trying to get you the link to the official PDF file for you to read and print the entire plan. If I remember right, it was pretty clear what the snacks were. Fruit, ice cream bars, drinks.

Here, finally I found the link: http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/me.../MYWDining.pdf

have fun figuring it out.

Hey now Cavey.....good to hear from you. I guess I wouldn't have resisted that one either. Would that be Alec Guinness or could I mean Alek Biolek?

Re: dining plan snacks

I just got back, and we used the dining plan. The snacks are:
Chips, Ice Cream Bar, Popcorn, Drink, or Fruit. That's pretty much the deal, and I didn't really see anyone making exceptions. But that's ok...the portion sizes and amounts of food you get between the counter service and table service were plenty. We had to buy like 10 bottles of water on our last 2 days just to use them up :-)

Re: dining plan snacks

I too just got back. Used it for water, Mickey Ice Cream Bars, Mickey Rice Krispy bars, BAGELS (!), they weren't too strict on it. I would ask if I could use a snack and they usually said yes.

The Dining plan was great. Actually ended up being TOO much food at times.
And since I had extra points at the end, I ended up getting extra stuff.

But to give you an example --for COUNTER SERVICE:

We were staying at CBR.
Breakfast time-
I wasn't too hungry. My friend was famished. So I got a bagel and a juice. They ordered the Big Breakfast thing AND a Side of Bacon- but realized they'd left their card behind in their room. I was ready to put his on my card and pay cash, when the CM said it was ALL included in the Dining Plan.
We fed both of us with just that one visit to the counter and just that one Counter Service point

Here's a pic of what I got the last day -- I had to use up my points for Counter Service (because Dinner was VERY filling!!!), and so I got a breakfast thing, plus a danish, plus a juice -- all on the plan.

Wow, geeman, that is some serious food for one counter service point! I wonder if they were counting the pastry or bagel items as a "dessert," even though they said you don't get a dessert with breakfast counter service? It seems like everywhere I look people have different experiences with the dining plan, guess I will just have to figure it out when I get there!

I think they have set items but it never hurts to ask. I would just ask before hand and if they take it then it is probably ok!!! Enjoy!!
