Character Dining?????
My son will be 8 next year when we go to WDW. I was thinking about getting the dining plan with our package. What is a good boy character meal to do? And how do you get there? Last visit we did Chef Mickey's around 10:30 that was a great time not a big crowd.
Thanks Jen ![]()

Re: Character Dining?????
I like Crystal Palace at the magic kingdom, Breakfastsaurus at the animal kingdom & O'hanna ( the breakfast) at the Polynesian. Great meals that are great for boys and girls.

Re: Character Dining?????
We just did Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace, and we liked Liberty Tree better. Which characters are you hoping to see?

Re: Character Dining?????
We have tried Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, and CRT with our son and he liked all of them. Chef Mickey's is just fun! Liberty Tree Tavern was a wonderful surprise on our last trip. We will do that one again, the food was good and the characters were awesome. My 7 year old even liked CRT, he was a good sport.

Re: Character Dining?????
Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare are the only character meals I have done in WDW, and I loved them both! I thought the food was better at 1900 Park Fare, but I love seeing Mickey and friends at Chef Mickey's, so that would be my top pick.

Re: Character Dining?????
Oh, you know, we liked the Garden Grill too. Great character interaction! Our boys both liked it. I think all of the character meals we usually go to have been listed.

Re: Character Dining?????
Hi!
Look into Mickeys Backyard BBQ, we had so much fun - lots of characters and good food, abit more than a character dinner, but it's longer and a lot of fun live music. I danced with Minnie! Den

Re: Character Dining?????
IMHO, Liberty Tree Tavern is the best. It always reminds me of Thanksgiving and it is served "family style" instead of buffet style so you can actually sit-down with your family and enjoy instead of everyone getting up all the time. I've always gotten such GREAT pictures with the characters there (at least 4-5 characters everytime), and it is a nice warm "home-like" environment, versus the chaos of Chef Mickey's. Then again, I am not one for all the hoopla of twirling napkins, etc. Although, an 8 year might definately disagree with me on the napkin twirling.
hehe Food-wise though, I will always vote Liberty Tree; amazing apple butter, good mashed potatoes, and the turkey is always great!Enjoy!

Re: Character Dining?????
Where is 1900 Park Fare? Or Mickey's Backyard BBQ and Gulliver's Grill? What kind of food do they serve and can you use that with the dining plan? I'm not really sure what characters he'll be into by then. Of course there is the normal one Mickey,Minney,Goofy.Jen ![]()

Re: Character Dining?????
My poor DS has never had a character breakfast, as I have always taken my DD to Norway for the Princess. After a disappointing breakfast last year(Mary Poppins is a princess?) we are going to Chef Mickey's this year. Although we have a grand gathering, I don't want to spend the extra $$ to go to Tony's since we already bought the meal plan.
