Icon7 Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

Does anyone know if they are allowing people to use the dinner plan meals to pay for the Fantasmic/ Dinner combo thing? (Sorry, not sure what it's called) I read somewhere that they might be letting people do this. Has anyone actually done it yet?

Yes, I believe that just changed and you can use the dining plan with the Fantasmic Package.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

Yes you can. Mama melrose's and Hollywood & Vine count as one meal but Brown Derby counts as two.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

We booked this on our dining plan. They still need to take a credit card when you book but they don't charge it unless you don't show up or if you don't cancel!

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

Great news!
When I booked the package at Mama Melrose last May, I was told I couldn't use the dining package.
They did let me use it wen we got there, but I wasn't planning on being able to.
At least now you can plan ahead.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

I tried in September to use our premium dining plan and it didn't work. I called on Friday evening (9/30) and they let me use it.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

Does anyone have a suggested time-line for making plans? We originally wanted to do Brown Derby but since I found out it's a signature restaurant, We are thinking Mama Melrose's. What time should we Book for? I have an eight year old son...not sure if that will make any difference with regards to planning timelines.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

Nancy, I'm not sure you have a whole lot of choice when booking the package. They seem to want to give out very early times to package bookers.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

With the Fantasmic package, you will have to eat somewhere between 2 and 4 PM. Unless you are going at a really busy time, I would skip the package and just eat there when you want, and show up to Fantasmic 45 minutes before show time. You have to show up that early on the package as well.

Re: Dinner plan & Fantasmic Question?

Really? I guess I thought I would save time by doing the dinner package. If this really is the case, then I will probably try somewhere else. Mickey, So you think we'll be fine to get a good seat if we line up 45 mins before the show? We thought we might try le cellier instead, if it was an option.

That's true, I was lucky and was able to back our ADR up to 5:30 but that was in late July when the crowds are larger. We still had to get there 30+ minutes before the show to get a seat but in the summer that's better than 2 hours before the show. If I went in the off season I wouldn't bother with the package. Keep in mind that with the package you can't make any changes once you reach the 48 hours mark. I tried to back ours up the afternoon of our ADR and coun't do it w/o losing my deposit.
