Tony's Town Square
Ok so I realized in all of my careful planning that I did not have time set aside to see the Spectromagic Parade. Somewhere it slipped my mind that this does not happen at MVMCP. We were supposed to spend our last night at Disney in Pleasure Island and have dinner at Wolfgang's, but I don't want my family to miss Spectromagic. So I was thinking maybe we'd do dinner close to or at the MK. I've NEVER eaten at Tony's. How is the food? Is it somewhat similiar to Alfredo's in Epcot? I love Alfredo's....Help...

Re: Tony's Town Square
Sorry, we did not care for Tony's when we went 2 years ago. Have not been back since.
There are others that really enjoyed Tony's though. You can also eat out on the porch. If you plan it right, you could have a great spot for the parade.

Re: Tony's Town Square
Yeh, you might want to move it about an hour or so. Make sure you put in a request for the porch, may help when you get there.

Re: Tony's Town Square
We ate at Tony's on our last trip. Watched the Fireworks at the castle, stepped into Tony's (no PS) got a table right away. Ate dinner and stepped back out front about 10 minutes before Spectromagic parade. We had great spots to watch. This is one of my favorite parades. You don't want to miss it.

I think you should go for Tony's if you haven't ever tried it. Who knows? It might be fabulous for you - but, it sounds like a great place to catch the parade!! And this nice fall weather - perfect for porch sitting!

Re: Tony's Town Square
December is considered fall? ;-)
Thank you all for your advice! I think I will indeed set the time back by about an hour. It'd be nice to be sitting there eating with the parade going by! And then Wishes will happen after that almost immediately. What a lovely way to end our trip!

Re: Tony's Town Square
I had a PS for Tony's my last trip--but--we didnt go at the advice of a CM at check in actually..i had never heard 'amazing things' about it..just okay things but I wanted to try it for myself..after looking at the menu I still wasnt sure how jazzed i'd be about spending 18 dollars on spaghetti but i decided to try it anyways..the CM at check in STRONGLY advised we change our PS to somewhere else...so we went to Beirgarten...it was yummy.
I would maybe try a sit down in the monorail resorts and then head back over to MK to watch the parade...

Re: Tony's Town Square
We ate at Tony's last Dec & loved it. Admittedly, we had been there a couple of years earlier & had been very disappointed both in the food & the service. It was horrible compared to our first experience at Tony's back in '89 which we loved. But this past Dec we broke down & decided to try it again & are happy we did. DD had a steak & mac&cheese and she said the steak melted in her mouth. Rafikiman had the spaghetti & meatball & said it was great, & I had the pork osso buco which was also wonderful...the pork melted in my mouth, the sauce was delicious, & the spinach gnocchi was wonderful. I definitely say give it a try, especially if you can sit outside & watch the parade while you're eating.

Re: Tony's Town Square
I recently ate at Tony's. We were there on 10/2/05. We wanted to try Mama melrose's at MGM, but they were booked..so was Ohana and Concourse Steakhouse, so we decided to try Tony's. I hadn't heard great things, but I figured I'd try..the menu sounded good. We had the free dining plan. My BF got the minestrone soup (he didn't like it...it had squash in it, which he hates, and it was too runny), I had spinach and artichoke dip, which wasn't bad, just too hot right out of the microwave. For entrees, he had the NY strip steak, not bad...not the best cut of meat at WDW, but not the worst. I had the chicken fiorentine...It was breaded chicken, sauteed in some light sauce, served over asparagus and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were ok, the asparagus was rubbery, and the chicken...eww. The chicken and sauce were soo greasy, and the breading on the chicken wasn't even baked on, it just fell right off the actual meat when you tried to cut it. We were STARVING, so we ate just about everything, but I wouldn't recommend. Also, for dessert, they didn't even bring us a dessert menu so we could each order our own dessert. Instead, the server brought us this little sampler dessert with a slice of cheesecake (not bad), tiramisu (not bad), and a mini chocolate cannoli (yucky!)- for us to share. Now, I have no problem sharing food with my BF, but if we were using the dining plan and were each entitled to dessert, i would have liked for us each to actually get dessert...oh yeah, here's a concept...maybe choose what we want for dessert too. On a scale of 1-5, I give Tony's a 1.5
