AP eats discount

Quick question: We bought AP's this year, are there any types of discounts that come with the AP with regards to dining, counter or table? Is the only way to get any discounts through joining the dining plan for $50?
We're more of a counter-service type of family, free to eat at any time, and can't see myself saving enough $ through character dining to make this card worthwhile.

I know there is 10% off lunches at some places. There is a list in your pass guide (the thing that holds your pass.

bribert, spend the $50 and get the DDE card. you'll get 20% your meals. go to allearsnet.com for more details. some counter service places do accept the card. just look into it. it's definitely worth it. we've saved a lot of money using that card.

Re: AP eats discount

I agree with Tragic, the DDE card saved us a bundle. If the restaurant didn't take the DDE card then I just presented my AP and most of the time got a discount with that.

I agree. The DDE seems to be the best perc of having an AP right now. There are Best Rate discounts on rooms for AP holders, but it's not the best deal for everyone.

Re: AP eats discount

We got the DDE card and it was great! The 20% was a huge savings for us, we had 8 people in our group and it was good for all of us.

Re: AP eats discount

What resort are you staying at? I know at the values, the card is good at the food courts. So I'm guessing between breakfast everyday and a few other meals, after two weeks we should recoup the 50 dollars right there. So any sit down meals or meals at AK would be all savings.

Re: AP eats discount

The DDE card is also good at the food court at POFQ, I don't know about POR because we didn't stay there. But we used it everytime we ate at the food court at POFQ and at every other restaurant we stayed at and even with only two people it saved us 11.00 at least on every food bill. That was almost my dd's meal, and over 13 days the thing definitely p[aid for itself and we still get to use for the trip in Dec. with grandma and Grandpa there too, and now with the new pricing making my 12 year old no longer a little one we have to pay full price for her meals. That means we need to save every dollar we can get our hands on. So, with the four of us, it will still almost pay for her meal, and it already paid for itself on the last trip. I would get one, there is an incredible list of restaurants for it ( even longer than the one for AP discounts). Even if you only used it 5 times, it has paid for itself.

Re: AP eats discount

I have to agree! We saved a big amount of money on our last trip. And we plan to put the card to full use on our next trip. Definitely worth the $50.

Re: AP eats discount

We bought the DDE and saved so much!! The most important thing is it is good at your resort food court! That alone saved us 50 bucks! (I dont think you can use it on mugs though)
Also most places in AK take it, along with some of the country fast services in the countries in epcot!
