Premium Dining Package

I have the premium dining package booked for my family. I get the three meals a day. Does anyone know if there are limits on the choices that I can make at the restaurants?

Re: Premium Dining Package

I know the plan does not include any alcoholic beverages, but other than that, you can pick anything you want. The only thing I can think of is that some sit down restaurants that you order of a menu have some desserts that are not included. They are the ones that serve 2. At each restaurant, the waiter/waitress will let you know if there isn't anything included. As far as entrees go, you can pick anything you want.

The one thing I did notice is that when we did the dining plan, none of the restaurants had any specials that weren't listed on the menu. I am pretty sure they did, but they never told us about them. I don't think that will be the case with the premium plan though.

Re: Premium Dining Package

It's been some time, but many years ago on my honeymoon we had the 'gold key plan', which is equivalent to the premium plan they have today. Back then your meal included appetizer, entree, desert, a non-alcoholic drink, and the top restaurants and shows were included. We were never informed that there were any limitations. In fact, I can remember my husband had ordered lobster for lunch. I don't know if things are different today, but for the price of that plan I hope not. If you want to splurge, it's definitely the way to go.

That's the way to do it. There are pretty much no restrictions. Just one thing to keep in mind. Eat heavy! Order the most expensive stuff! Appetizer, main course, desert, coffee, and non-alc beverage plus tax and tip. Max it out, that way you get maximum bang for you buck and eat some really good food too.

Re: Premium Dining Package

I have been reading about that premium package and am half temtped to give it a shot next trip since I am going with a MYW package and not reupping my AP. Please report on how you make out with it. I would apprecaite any input. I am most attracted to the idea of everyting being paid for in advance...cept for spending money.

Hehe, I'd have to agree. I ate filet mignon, lobster, creme brulee, etc... all week long. It was WONDERFUL, and ALL INCLUDED!

Doug and Dana go black and white. I've finally bought my first AP, as well as the DDE card. After 4 years, I wanted to give the Gold/Grand experience a rest and try and milk the AP since I'm now three hours away and also play with the math in the other direction, that is ala carte. I want to see a different Cirque show, I've seen La Nouba 4 years running. I can't stuff myself in order to eat $1500 worth of food over 5 days. Let's see how this works.

Would you believe I didn't really gain that much weight and even lost a few pounds after 2 vacations. It's all the running to get from Epcot to MK for both Wishes and Illuminations.

The most I have gained on an WDW trip is two pounds....it's really hard to gain weight with all that walking..lol

I did the ap thing for this year and it definately paid for itself after my January trip. I got excellent discounts for both the polynesian and the AKL. I just think that for me the MYW package may pay off more. Seems to me the discounts are more geared toward packages now. Plus, I like the convienance of having everything set and paid off in advance. They would not allow me to pay my room off in advance and I didn't like that. I like to be paid in full before I leave. I also like the idea of having meals included. That's less travel money. My DD and I still do the character meals etc, so we are going to get our money's worth with one of the dining programs. I just can't decide which one I want to do. I will have to tinker with the math when I get home from this trip. Rest assured I will be booking the next one before this year is over, so I need to do my homework now.

Re: Premium Dining Package

The Premium Dining Plan worked out great!! It covered all our dinner shows. We ate lobster, filet, steaks, etc. It was so nice not to have to keep track of counter service/table service meals with the other dining plan. All our drinks (non-alcoholic) were included as well as the 15% tip. I would never go to Disney w/o a dining plan. Our lunches were running $100 and dinners were $150 to $180. Not to mention breakfast were approximately $80.
We had no problem on the premium plan - all restaurants were accepting the plan and we got an appetizer, entree and dessert with each meal. We didn't eat all three options at every meal but they were there if we wanted them.

Why did you choose the premium over the other dinning package? Was it because the other meal was included? I know you said it was nice not to have to keep track of the meals used....but would you go with the premium again or use the other next time. We are using the dinning plan in May but I
thought when I priced it out for the premium it was A LOT more money for four of us.(2 adults & 2 Children) Thanks
