Icon5 V-day suggestions

I thought I had posted this question before but can't seem to locate it. Sorry if it is a repeat.

We will be in WDW for Valentine's day this year (as usual) but this year my in-laws are coming. They have offered to take the kids to dinner that night leaving us (Me, DH, DBIL and DSIL) to have a quieter dinner on our own. Any suggestions (besides V&A - too expensive)? TIA

Re: V-day suggestions

What nice treat, a night out for the grown-ups. Portabello's is great as well as The Flying Fish Cafe. Fulton's is also very nice and so is Wolfgang Puck's.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

A yummy dinner with just adults...SO many choices!!!

What kind of food do you like? Steak? Italian? More exotic?? Can you go back into the parks to eat, or do you need to stick with resort restaurants?

Also, the menus to ALL the restaurants at WDW are on www.allearsnet.com - just click on the DINING tab!

Re: V-day suggestions

Last year we were in WDW on Valentine's Day and we went to the California Grill at the Comtemporary Resort. DD went to the kids club at the Poly. It was a very nice adult dinner, and we watched the fireworks over the MK also!

Erin- We can go back to the parks. We have parkhoppers just for that reason. My DMIL and DFIL are talking about taking the kids to Chef Mickey's (we did this last year for V-day------too crowded, I thought) so we'd really like to eat a MK/EPCOT or any of the monorail resorts so we can all meet up afterwards if time permits. We eat all kinds of food. We are skipping Italian as we already plan on Alfredos with the whole family our first night.

KarenT - how was the food at Cali Grill? That sounds perfect esp. if the kids go to CM with Grandma and Grandpa.

I'd vote for the Calif Grill too. And ask for a window.

Another vote for California Grill, just make sure to get a PS ASAP. I took my husband there as a suprise for his birthday and it was BEAUTIFUL, I requested a window seat and they accomodated. They also had a FABULOUS cake for him. Maybe they will have some special Valentine dessert!

Re: V-day suggestions

Food was very good! DH likes sushi and enjoyed the sushi selection. To be honest I do not remember what we had! But I remember being very happy and full..! At the time I was pregnant and since I could not enjoy any alcohol , I enjoyed my entree' and deserts! :

If you like seafood another good choice is Narcoose' ( not sure if I spelled it right!) at the Grand Floridian. Especially if you can get a table by the water.

Re: V-day suggestions

In Epcot - how about Rose & Crown? Not the fanciest, but it's a cute little place. Or if you didn't want to have dinner there, you could go there for drinks after. I forget who it is, but someone on here always talks about getting a seat outside of R&C on the water to watch Illuminations. That always sounded so romantic to me. :)

I don't know if there's anyone else who does it too, but we always go there. This was the one time we ate inside, but it was raining. We got to go outside after dinner to eat.

Re: V-day suggestions

Erin - Thanks for the detailed menu. Hard to read that when your waiting for lunch to be delivered to the office, LOL.

Love all the suggestions so far, could use a few more just to present to my DH, DBIL and DSIL so it could be a joint decision.

TIA
