50's Prime Time Cafe

We are curious about the food at 50's Prime Time Cafe. We have PS for thursday(11-3) and my DH is worried about how the food is going to taste. He has a bad attitude...so will he get sent to the corner???? lol

We also have PS for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. We have been to Crystal Palace but not Chef Mickey's

We are also going to MNSSHP on Sunday(10-30)

If anyone has any info on these resturants we would like to hear about them.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe

The food at 50's is awesome, but filling. I didn't care for the play acting, but that is just me. I didn't get scolded at all and I refused to eat veggies. Chef mickey's is a great character meal. You are going to love that. It is definately one of the most festive character meals in WDW.,

We like the food at 50's PT. It's pretty basic--fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe

Chef Mickey is my FAVORITE character meal. I have also done Crystal Palace, but I preferred the characters and interaction at Chef Mickeys. Haven't been to Prime Time, but am thinking about trying it out.

I agree. The food at 50's is great! If he's got a bad attitude, they'll probably bust on him big time. Or, you could always ask them to withhold his dessert if he misbehaves.

This is Joy's DH I really don't have an attitude, but I do like to play along. Any hints
of having a good time with the attitude problem. My DD [ which is a 3 year old] would love it. Any help is appreciated.

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe

Here's tips....don't eat your veggies and when prompted to eat them, you can cross your arms and hang out your lower lip and shake your head no.
I'd tell you what will happen next, but I don't want to spoil your fun!

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe

The food is fantastic. I love the fried chicken. I have only been yelled at once (they have awesome green beans), I was using my cell phone, and got yelled at because they weren't invented yet.

On one trip, one guy refused to eat his green beans, so "mom" took away his milkshake. We went and got it himself from the next room over, and when mom got back, he had to stand with his nose against the wall. His kids were cracking up!

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe

Personally, I thought that the guy who got whipped cream on his green beans at the table next to ours was pretty funny, but our "brother" was a dud. I wish we had the "mother" next to us. She was awesome. lil brer was kinda disappointed about that. We've only been there once, because you kinda don't know if your waiter/waitress will be in character or not and if they aren't it really feels like you missed something if you see someone else getting what you don't have.

You will just love Chef Mickeys. There is great character interaction and the food is good too! We haven't tried 50's yet, but will on this trip!

Re: 50's Prime Time Cafe

We've always loved 50's PT food, although I do think the food isn't quite as good as in years past, and the servings have become a little smaller. All in all, it's a pretty good meal. The experience is the best part. The elbows on the table is a sure way to get in trouble, but the worst I've seen was someone wearing a hat at the table. I usually have more fun being a tattle tale and getting my brother in trouble, until I got in trouble for being a tattle tale... HA!
