If You've Ever Eaten at The Plaza Restaurant..

...would you recommend it? I'm looking to make one more dinner ADR at MK. The other sit downs at MK are character meals at dinnertime, except for CRT, which we'll be doing later in the week for breakfast.

I saw on allearsnet.com that the Plaza serves mainly sandwiches, but yet is a sit-down and counts as such on the dining plan. I kind of like the idea of sandwiches at dinner for this evening, becuase we're going to be eating so many heavy dinners throughout the week.

So tell me, is it good? Is it worth using up a sit down on the dining plan?

This this embarassing but I don't even think i know which restaurant is the Plaza Restaurant. Where is it in MK ingamba?

Hey, did you check the "reviews" on it in the "rate and review" section? I've been reading through some of those and people give REALLY informative and detailed reviews. Check there and let us know what you find!

Wish,

The Plaza is at the end of Main Street and to the right, as if you were going to head to Tomorrowland. It's on the opposite corner as Casey's and Crystal Palace.

I'm going to check out rate and review right now.

Nothing but good reviews on Rate and Review for The Plaza. There were only 4 or 5 but they were all good.

Re: If You've Ever Eaten at The Plaza Restaurant..

I have eaten at The Plaza a couple years ago. We enjoyed it. The food was pretty good, and the service was very nice. With that said, it really seems more like a counter service place that brings your food to you...it just didn't seem like a sitdown resturant to me. Like I said, the food was good, but it is just burgers, sandwiches, stuff like that. If it were me, and I had a free slot on my dining plan, I would definitely use it somewhere else like LTT or TTS...or maybe even Chef Mickey's, which is right around the corner. I wouldn't waste a freebie meal on the meal plan here... JMHO though...

Re: If You've Ever Eaten at The Plaza Restaurant..

Thanks Dewey, that was my concern too. I saw the menu and saw that is was pretty much the same fare that you'd get at a counter service. But it'll cost me a sit down off the dining plan.

This place is still under consideration for us, we haven't decided. I'm thinking if I do it, I'll make and ADR for a rather late seating so that when we're done Wishes will be close to starting. And if we do it on an evening EMH night, we'll head back towards one of the lands, while many are heading out of the park.

We ate there for lunch on our last trip and it was good! (we were not on the DP) I had the tuna sandwich and Dh had the club I think and the kids had sundays! This upcoming trip I have a ADR for dinner there and we have the dinning plan and I felt the same as you, is it worth it to use there.
I also agree that it would be a change from eating "heavy" dinners, so that's why I booked it. Great shakes too!

I may have to cancel my ADR for there through if we decide to go to Sea World that day

Re: If You've Ever Eaten at The Plaza Restaurant..

Whenever we're at MK and looking for something on the lighter side, The Plaza is where we go. The sandwiches are quite large (much larger, for example, than The Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney), and very, very good.

If you're a burger kind of guy, there might not be a better one on property. My favorite, though, is the Plaza Club, and the Grilled Reuben is also an excellent choice if you like corned beef. On the downside, there's very little in the way of ambience. The restaurant isn't very big, the tables are pretty close together and it can get pretty noisy when it's crowded.

Bottom line, if you want good, solid sandwich fare I'd recommend The Plaza.

Re: If You've Ever Eaten at The Plaza Restaurant..

I haven't eaten there, but it's not for lack of trying. For some reason I am under the impression that they are not open for dinner. I called once to make a PS there and the latest time they had was 4 p.m., you may want to double check on that also.

Re: If You've Ever Eaten at The Plaza Restaurant..

We love the Plaza Restaurant for a change from big, heavy meals we tend to eat at WDW. It's a small sandwich/ice cream shop and the menu is limited so don't go expecting a 5 star full menu. We like it for a smaller light lunch, a change from burgers and big heavy meals.

I wouldn't use a sit down credit for it if I were on the dining plan, I would pay cash and save the credit.

That salad looked good to me too. That may be what I go with if I eat there. Of course I loved a good Reuben so who knows.
