Icon5 WDW Dining Plan...question

Ok so we decided that this time, the dining plan is what will be better option for us.

but what i need to know, is this:

because daughter is 2, she doesn't pay for park pass. bonus!
now because she is 2, she can't buy a dining plan either?!?! anyone know if this part is true? she will eat enough that i would LIKE to buy the dining plan (esp at $11 a day)

NOW.....if in fact we cannot buy her her dining plan, what do we do at restaurants?

she is allowed to share food off of plates (ie the meals can get large, so there will be no lack of food between the 5 adults and my son, they often share a meal when we go out because of the appetite)

but what about the buffets? is she allowed to 'eat off our plate' there? Ie: chef mickey, Donald's Breakfastosaurus, etc etc. (in otherwords, we would take an extra half scoop of eggs for her, and a pancake for her on our plate)

anyone know???

Kerry :O)

Re: WDW Dining Plan...question

Just got back and this is what we were told. They can eat off your plate, even at the buffets. If you want to order something for them off the menu you can and you can pay for it or depending on the item, charge it as you snack. We did this to get milk for our DS.

Re: WDW Dining Plan...question

if the buffets allow under 3 to eat for free, that solves that problem!

i wasn't worried about counter service or other table service, just the buffets.

phew. thanks for your help, folks!

Re: WDW Dining Plan...question

Yep. Buffetts are free for 2yo.

I hear there is so much food with the dining plan, you won't be finishing everything they bring you.

The other simply solution is if you need more food, just buy it. Nothing prevents someone in your party from paying cash for a meal.

Our DD was 23 months on our last trip, and she didn't need a dining plan and just ate off our plates/free at buffets. No questions, no hassles. There will be more than enough food for all, don't worry. That's the beauty of the dining plan, its all paid for (including tip), so you don't have to worry about how much it costs, just enjoy the wonderful meals and experience!!!

Re: WDW Dining Plan...question

I have three under three (well my twins will be 3 on 2/23- which is why we'll be there 2/5 :) ) But I really wish I could buy the dining plan for them... just the lunch itself costs me 6 bucks (they wont eat those crummy kids meals- I mean- chilled chicken? YUK!)
