Icon5 DDE and Character Meals

Question about Disney Dining Experience ..... Can you use at a Character Meal? I noticed that alot of the restaurants that offer Character Meals are included in the DDE, but will DDE be accepted for a Character Meal? We are think of going with DDE as we will be going in June with a party of seven and possibly again in December with a party of eight.

Re: DDE and Character Meals

We used our DDE card for character meals at CRT, Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Cape May in August. You shouldn't have any problems.

Yes, you can use the DDE for character meals... But you're not allowed to feed the animals...

Re: DDE and Character Meals

A quick thanks to everyone who answered. Now for the next question - How far in advance should we send in ..... On another website (not mentioned here) I read that even though Disney's application said to allow two to three weeks, the other site stated that because of heavy demand allow six to eight weeks. What does everyone think ....

Re: DDE and Character Meals

I would give it the 6-8 weeks mine did not come before my trip but I called them and they had temporary cards and where we could use them waiting for us at guest relations ( I ordered the cards weeks before I went ) come to find out they had a wrong address for me and they came back to them so I finally recieved them about a week to two weeks after I came home

When I ordered my cards last June it was 6-8 weeks but I have heard that it's getting faster and people are getting the cards in 2-3 weeks now. If you order your cards and they don't come before you leave home you can call and they will have a card waiting for you at Guest Relations/Services at Epcot.

Re: DDE and Character Meals

It took me 5 weeks to get my card- it came just a few days before we left for WDW. We saved a ton of money. You can use it at Hoop de Doo and Spirit of Aloha, also. I think that it is just at certain seating times, though.

Re: DDE and Character Meals

It took about six weeks to get mine, but I think that's because they had just opened it up to non-Florida residents (and had just announced that AP holders got a discount on it).

I'd bet you're safe with the 2-3 weeks, but if you have the extra time, why not apply early?
