Re: Dining Plan FAQ

I'm pretty sure you can't do that but it's a good idea.

I think you were lied to a Puck's. We've eaten at Fulton's and Portobello, both managed by Levy, and they get 18% same as the resorts and parks. When we ate at Wolfgang Puck's in 2001 it was 18%, and now that they are also being run by Levy, I can't imagine them stiffing their waiters. So, my guess is, your waiter lied to you, hoping to increase the tip. Oh yeah, HOB does 18% as well. I'm pretty sure, it's standard through Disney Travel Company, who you actually buy the plan from.

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

Please forgive me if this has been addressed already (I couldn't seem to find it): Are Fulton's Crab house and Portobello Yacht Club included in the dining plan? Also, any word on if you can use snack credits during Food and Wine this year? I know that last year you could, but it was the first year of the dining plan, maybe they changed? Thanks!!

Sorry, I didn't see this until today. I would have thought both of those restaurants were included on the dining plan but I don't see them listed on the official brochure. I guess that means that you can't use the dining plan at either place. Maybe someone who has used the plan recently can better answer this question.

Someone may know better, but I don't think you can. You couldn't when we went last summer.

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

Do you use the same menu as everyone else when you're on the dining plan or do they provide different menus that you can select from?

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

Wow. That really makes it attractive. Has the overall experience here on the boards been good with the plan? Our family of four usually eats breakfast in our room, a late CS lunch and then wrap up the day with a sit down dinner. Sounds like it could be something to look into.

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

I really don't see a down side to the dining plan if you plan a sit down meal and a counter service meal each day. I really haven't read any reports where someone didn't like the dining plan, it's such a good deal and easy to use.

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

Maybe someone can answer this question for me... I booked our meal plan a week or two ago and when I spoke to Member services (we are DVCer's ) they said that I could purchase my 2 year old a plan. I had seen on Mosesavers that they don't differentiate between child and adult credits so I figured for $80, why not. But the initial info on this thread said you couldn't purchase the dining plan for a child under 3. So now I am confused. Can anyone clarify for me? Are the credits different?

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

There is no difference in child and adults credits right now but that could change at any time (I haven't heard that it is). I've never heard of anyone buying it for a 2 year old but if the CM let you then you should be fine.

Thanks for the help. I think I will call Member services and double check about my 2 year old!

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

Keep us posted, I would like to know what MS says. It may be different booking through DVC since you don't have to have park passes to add the dining package.

Re: Dining Plan FAQ

I just read a thread on another site that says as of yesterday the DP has changed snacks to include just about anything at a counter service that costs under $4. I also read that the Marketplace at Beach Club participates in the plan (but I don't see it on the list on allearsnet). Does anyone have any more info?????? I was eager enough for my next trip on the free DP, but if I can get any item under $4 as a snack that would really make this plan just about the best thing since sliced bread!!!!!
