Name change for DDE

I found out today that soon the Disney Dinning Experience will soon be called:
Tables in Wonderland. The program is still the same, only the name is different.

I love the new name because I'm huge Alice in Wonderland fan. I think it is a cute name.

The new name will roll out in next few weeks. All card that say DDE will still be valid until they expire. All new cards will say Tables in Wonderland

Hmm, cute. I let go of my DDE membership awhile ago when we started doing the Dining Plan on every trip. Very cute name, I wonder what brought on the change?

I bet it was confusion between DDP and DDE.

And while we are on the subject, can I just say that we are going with the DDE because of the liquor, sure, but mostly because the DDP includes dessert. Nobody in our family is a big dessert fan. We prefer appetizers. Sometimes, one appetizer and a side salad is my meal of choice. The kids often order two appetizers instead of an entree. I wish DDP gave you the choice between appetizer and dessert.

Weird, because I think the children's dining plan has the appetizer on it. I am sure that is so they restaurants can get some food in front of a hungry child quickly.

I think that's it. It causes confusion on the boards. When I called I say "I have the dining experince card, the 20% thing", just to make sure. I'm sure lots of people hear "dining" and only think of the dining plan.

That's a really cute name. I'm going with the DDP this time though because of the free dining!

I think the new name is adorable, but man I wish they would just leave things alone! Everytime they make one of these changes mass confusion results. Or... we could just get every single Disney vacationer to join Mousebuzz so that we can explain everything to them!

Re: Name change for DDE

alilmagical 32, this is a first for me. I have never even heard of DDE (Tables in Wonderland). Seriously, can someone explain or give me a link as to where I can find out about it. Exactly what it is & how much it is. Can this be purchased without buying a ticket as I already have my tickets & my resort (I'm so excited). I appreciate the info.

Here is a link with order info and prices:

Disney Dining Experience

Basically, AP holders and FL residents can buy the card, which gives a 20% discount on dining and drinks. There are blackout dates and some restaurants have some restrictions.

You will only be able to add the DDE to your trip if you have purchased an AP or if you live in FL.

Thank you for the link. No wonder I didn't know anything about it. I will check out the link anyway. We don't live that far from the Florida line. Sure wish they would give us coastal Georgians a few of these great deals. (((sigh)))

That is so true!!! It is amazing what causes mass confusion.
