Re: Boma?

OK its been said but I got two words, ZEBRA DOMES!!! Yay! Coconut tiramisu isn't too shabby either.
AS far as the food it was ok but I think I went too late, same prob with me and chef mickeys. SO I will def try again, especially since DW taste has grown up so I won't have to hear her say the food is "Yucky" again!

Re: Boma?

I liked it, but I wasn't enamored of the zebra domes (mediocre to me) or the ribs (I make better, more flavorful ribs!). But I loved the Tunisian Couscous and the Ginger Carrot Soup.

Re: Boma?

I am not a Boma lover! But I can say that I have been there. Nothing bad but nothing must have either. And since we stay at AKL we can just run down and grab some zebra domes in counter service.

Re: Boma?

It's just not a party without ChexMix Boma was "ok". None of us thought it was spectacular. And I was kinda disappointed in those zebra domes - everyone raved about them - but I just found them "ok". So, I guess my rating for Boma is "ok".

Re: Boma?

We went last Saturday night. The food and service were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! I loved loved loved the ribs and so many other things on the menu. There was a mix up with our PS, so we had to wait about 30+ mins for our table, but so glad we waited! It was excellent. I'm SO glad Mickaholic told me about the ribs. They were so yummy! Boma will be a "must" for our next trip, too!

Re: Boma?

I'm not much pf a prime rib eater but oh my God, I couldn't enough 2 years ago. We ate there 4 nights because I needed them. I used to think the Zebra Domes were to die for (even ordered them from room service our last night, they weren't available in the store the first year they opened) they're still a must have HOWEVER, the Coconut Tiramasu...now that's to die for.

Re: Boma?

Boma has become a must for us. We are pretty adventuresome eaters and will try most anything once. Our last trip was DH's first visit to Boma's and I think he went back for prime rib at least 5 times. He says he only went back 4 times but I know he went back more. He says it was the best prime rib he ever had. My weakness is the butternut squash soup. I tried it in 04 and ;oved it. Found the recipe on AllEars, but it was nothing like what we had so I had to check it out again last trip. I don't know where they got that recipe (yuck) but the real thing at Boma's was wonderful.
Anyway...we are looking forward to going back next trip.

Our ressie was at 8:00 but because it was SO busy we didn't get seated until 8:30ish. And that waiting/lobby area was very very busy!

I would have loved to meet you.
