Not Breakfast or Dinner...just LUNCH!!
Hello Everyone:
A very simple questions.... of all the places around Disney World, where is the best place to have LUNCH? I know there are a lot of variables that enter into giving an answer for this question, but really consider them all. 1. No time for breakfast... 2. Arrive at Disney in the a.m..... 3. Can't get the Priority Seating you want... 4. Leaving after an early morning in "a" park, want a good meal before hitting the road.... 5. Kids or no Kids... I know there can be a million different situations. Put your "expert" thinking caps on and come up with a list. Please try to give reasons for your choices. Thanks in advance.... |

This questions is TOO hard for me to answer with just one restaurant. My answer would have to depend on the following two situations: It would have to depend on which park we are at and how much of a hurry we are in. Here our our top picks for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids, ages 7 and 3)
Best sit down: MKingdom: Tony's EPCoT: Garden Grill MGM: SCI-FI Animal Kingdom: Rain Forest Cafe Best Counter service: MKingdom: Pecos Bills EPCot: Sunshine Season Food Court MGM: Sunset Ranch Market (Turkey Legs and Baked Pototoes) Animal Kingdom: Tusker House Best resort: Sit down: O'hana Counter service: Food Courts in the All Stars and Port Orleans

watchett,
We found ourselves in that situation in June and wandered into one of our favorite Dinner places... Akershus (Norway in Epcot). It was incredibly hot and humid, and we wanted something somewhat light. In other words, we weren't really looking for a big bowl of venison stew. I thought we had made a poor choice, but I was very wrong. I had kinda forgot that Akershus always features a cold buffet with a variety of salads. In addition to that and some hot items, they had sandwich fixins which included incredible ham, roast beef, and bread. It was perfect. In addition, we were in and out in less than an hour... Bruce

I agree, it depends on which park you are visiting. If it is one of the monorail parks you can include any of the monorail resorts and their resturants on the list.
And that means....O'hanna (Polynesian Resort) Just remember to put the seat in your car all the way back before trying to get behind the wheel.

On my last trip, we did a lot of big lunches and skipped dinner. Some of the best we had were:
MGM Studios - Hollywood Brown Derby - you can get a lot of the yummy dinner entrees in lunch sizes and the famous Cobb Salad! EPCOT - Les Chefs de France - they have a great lunch menu with some of the best quiche I've ever had and a lot of sandwiches with a French flair plus regular entrees MK - Liberty Tree Tavern - I was skeptical about this place but our whole party had the Yankee Pot Roast and it was great! Have fun!

We like to do our main meal at lunch too. (For the most part, that is...I have to do DINNER at Rose & Crown so I can get Bangers & Mash!) At MGM, we like Hollywood & Vine 'cause it's character. At AK go with Flame Tree Barbque...not sit down, but you'll get plenty to eat. At EPCOT we prefer Mexico & at MK we like either Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern. At most of these places you can get lots of the same stuff as at dinner, maybe slightly smaller portions, but better prices, too.

I always eat lunch at a buffet restaurant so you don't have to buy a dinner. At the Biergarted in Germany, the last lunch seating is 3:45 and they start bringing out the dinner items at 4p.m.,so you pay lunch prices and get dinner items. Crystal Palace is good too!
