Luau show in December?

Will the weather be too cold for the show? We are traveling in December and don't want to miss this great show. Has anyone gone to this show in December? I have read a couple of cancellations on allears because of the cold weather lately in Orlando.

Hi Lustergirl,

We went in Dec. 2004. We had great weather. We had great weather the entire 2 weeks. I don't know if that was normal. But I didn't complain,LOL! When you call for your ADR ask about weather cancellations. I can't remember the rules.

Re: Luau show in December?

I think it may depend on the time you go. Isn't the weather in the beginning of December a bit warmer than at the end of the month? Keep in mind that if it's cold and they don't cancel the show, you have to go. You have to cancel 24 hours before the actual reservation to get your money back. My point is that you could be freezing your butt off watching a luau....maybe skip and go to hoop de doo.

Re: Luau show in December?

December weather is a crap shoot, no matter which part of the month. I've been there from late November to early December when it was freezing, so Dana's advice is best: use your 24 hr cancellation window to judge how the weather is when you arrive. If it's even chilly, cancel.

Re: Luau show in December?

I haven't seen the luau, but 'Ohana gives a great Polynesian experience, and it's indoors (and much cheaper).

Re: Luau show in December?

Sorry to say, we had Spirit of Aloha ressies for this past December 23rd. It was a little chilly that week (not very cold) and when I went to pick up our tickets the morning of the show, we were told it was cancelled due to cold weather. They refunded our tickets on my credit card. As you can imagine, EVERY restaurant was already booked. However, the nice CM at the Poly was able to beg and plead us into Ohana that night.

Cavey is right- Ohana is a great alternative if you aren't willing to take the chance of it being cancelled.
