Hoop Dee Doo VS. Mickey's BBQ
Okay... I know it's the same food, at least I think it is... But which should we do?? This question seems to come up for each of our visits... To go or not to go... but this time we are getting the Dining Plan and these two events are included for ONE sit down meal!!
NOW... which should we go to?????

Our boys loved Mickey's BBQ on our last trip (ages 3 & 6), but I will warn you that it's really loud. We had to yell across the table to talk to eachother. The kids really liked being out on the dance floor with the characters. It's not something we'd do every trip, but having done the Hoop De Doo on the 2 prior trips, it was a nice change of pace. The food was good (it's buffet) & the show was enjoyable. We got a lot of great pictures! If you've done Hoop before, then you might want to give it a try.

Ron, I thought they were counted as "2 sit down meals" also. Maybe it did change, that would be cool. I would just double-check that.
Oh, and I would DEFIANTELY do Hoop De Doo! It's great, you'll love it!!!

We've done both and Hoop Dee Doo is our favorite. We went to the BBQ in July and it was just too hot to truly enjoy it. The food isn't the same, the BBQ actually has more food but I don't think one was better than the other.

IF....your family likes to basically sit down and watch a show, be entertained, then Hoop De Doo. IF....your family wants to dance around and basically be part of a party, then the BBQ. The food/beer/wine is a wash. Good at both shows. Either way, you are going to enjoy it, it's just that they are different experiences.

I think it may depend on the ages of your kids. BBQ is a character meal with singing,dancing, rope twirling. It is very loud and takes place outdoors which can be very hot. HDD is fun for all ages. It is a corny song and dance show but is very entertaining and there is lots of audience participation as well. The HDD is a must do for us every trip, and my kids have gone every year since they were babies and love it every time!
