Re: Character Meals for 1 yr old

I've never taken a 1 year old to WDW but I think any character meal would be fine, I've seen the characters pay a lot of attention to the little ones. Enjoy it!

Re: Character Meals for 1 yr old

The characters are really good with children of all ages. Some of our favorites are Crystal Palace (Pooh & friends) in the Magic Kingdom, Garden Grill @ Epcot(Mickey, Chip & Dale, Pluto) and Chef Mickey's(Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale) be prepared, they can be pretty loud and noisy! You know your little one best.

Re: Character Meals for 1 yr old

We brought our ds to WDW for his first birthday. The BEST trip EVER. We went to the Grand Floridian for the character breakfest. Ds's favorite at the time (and still is) was Eeyore. He loved seeing the characters from across the room...but up close he got scared and cried a little. He did get brave though and reached out to touch Eeyore on the ear and nose. We told the waitress it was his birthday and they came out and sang Happy B-day, and had an oversized cupcake with a candle for him. DS was only leary of the characters in full costume. The characters like the princesses he was fine with. Loved going over to them.

Some people say "they will never remember it...why spend the money" but we dont regret it one bit. We video taped the entire thing and to this day Ds (at 4 yrs old) likes to watch the video.

The first trip to WDW for a 1 yr old is priceless. They are in such awe of everything. To me it was like seeing WDW in a whole new perspective. Have a great time !!

The best place that I can suggest is the crystal Palace. Winnie is so good with the little ones.

Your little one will get so much attention at the character meals!!! I suggest Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. Both are GREAT places!!!!!

Chef Mickey's is awesome... I am just not impressed with Crystal Palace... I have been there twice and could take or leave it... I can't wait to try out Liberty Tree this time around... it too is in the MK... I think it's Mickey and Friends...

Re: Character Meals for 1 yr old

I just had a conversation about this with friends who took their 18 month DD to WDW. Not only did they debate this same question before going, they wondered if she was too young to go to WDW period. Well, they went and had a great time! As for the character meal, they were a little hesitant because when they went to a local kids expo where there were local "characters," DD freaked out. She was terrified. They went to the character meal anyway (I forgot which one) . . . DD freaked out. She was terrified. So, to make a long story short, you know your child better than anyone. If she/he is okay with Halloween costumes or characters, a character meal would be fun!

Re: Character Meals for 1 yr old

When our son was one the character meal that really caught his attention was Crystal Palace with Pooh. But, we did read him lots of Pooh books before the trip.
