Re: best seafood

Besides the fish and chips at the R&C in Epcot, I haven't found the seafood to be that great in Florida. It could be that I'm accustomed to the fabulous seafood that comes from the cooler waters up here in New England, but still.... I wouldn't go to FL expecting to find good seafood as a rule.

The lobster bisque at Coral Reef is good though.

Re: best seafood

I can't help either. I, like ddoll, am a New England seafood snob...sorry! However, I too have heard very good things about the fish n chips at the R & C in Epcot.

Yes we are snobs up here in New England! I think the Raglan Road outside restaurant, Cooke's? has a nice fish and chips.

Great question. I'm a seafood lover myself and Maryland has great seafood so I'll be keeping my eye on this thread. Unfortunately I haven't found that one place that I really loved other than Red Lobster off Rt 192.

I do not agree about being snobs, but I agree that the seafood at WDW isn't the greatest. It probably has more to do with the chefs in WDW than being in FL.

My take is not that the all the FL chefs don't cook it well, it's that the local seafood isn't the best to begin with and the sulfur water adds a funny taste to the fish as they're cooking it.

Re: best seafood

All kidding (?) and snobbery aside, we like the clam bake at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club resort and we thought the Coral Reef restaurant in the Living Seas was pretty good.

Re: best seafood

Would not recommened Cap'n Jacks seafood. There were only two or three seafood entrees on the menu! Not even any grilled shrimp! I was not impressed... they should not classify themselves as 'seafood'.

I have heard Fulton's Crab House is good, Flying Fish Cafe, and Yachtsman. But I have not been to any of them, so I can't help much ....

Re: best seafood

Also from New England, and the food is not the same as 'up north', but Fulton's crab house in DTD is good. Capt'n Jacks is also good. Narcossees at the GF is also good, but $$$$$.

Re: best seafood

We ate at Fulton's last year for dinner. MY DH and DS loved it so much that we're going again in June but for lunch this time since it's not on the dining plan. I'm not a favorite of crab, but I had the Dungeness Crab Cakes and they were delicious. I think for appys we had New Bedford Sea Scallops, Shrimp Cocktail, and Prince Edward Island Mussels & Manila Clams. My DS had as an entree the Alaskan King Crab Claws and he loved them. Whatever DH had I know was good. (We all kind of taste each other's meals.) Of course, little DS had something off the kids menu, but he suddenly acquired a taste for popcorn shrimp, so maybe he'll have them for lunch this time.

I must say Fulton's was pretty pricey, but we enjoyed it and didn't feel rushed.

We're going to try Coral Reef this time, but mostly for the atmosphere. Hopefully we'll find the food enjoyable, too.

Have fun deciding!

Fulton's is very good. Don't worry about our New England cousins. They still this the Mayflower is in service.
