yeah the first time we went we had an AWESOME window seat. We managed to watch the castle change color and then we went outside on the sand and watched the fireworks. Great stuff.

Re: Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort

I know I've never done Ohanas, and I don't think my parents did either... my dad wanted to take us there on our last trip two years ago but...I guess it didn't work out.

Ohanas in December/Christmas? Is it really that good? I don't know why I'm such a skeptic...maybe going to the actual STATE of Hawaii? I don't know...

'Ohana is my second favorite meal in all of WDW...a VERY close second to Le Cellier!!! I love everything about it. When I was there in October, we sat 2 tables away from the window and got to watch Wishes from our table. It was a PERFECT meal!!!!!!!! It is now a MUST DO on every trip for us!!!

awesome! Great atmosphere in the restaurant too. Another AWESOME restaurant (but pricey one) is the Teppanyaki table grilling place over at the Japan Pavillion. Friggin awesome! After dinner make sure to stay on the balcony so you can watch the light show.

I am so glad to hear you say that! I have never been there, and am making an ADR for our trip in December. I can't wait! I'm thinking dinner there at around 7:30p, so I will be done in time for Illuminations.

good man, good man. Trust me, the balcony is a front row experience. Great place to stand. Oh and if you get hungry for snacks afterwards you can head right down into the store that is directly below the restaurant. You can pick up tons of Pocky and cool gifts. The apparel there is wayyy too expensive. I bought one shirt. ONE SHIRT! It cost me $40!

Re: Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort

well, make reservations ahead of time! I heard breakfast there is fabulous. Of course, dinner is too. Hehe. However i would not recommend staying at the Poly. It seems rather out-dated and retro looking. (not my kinda thing) I'm more of a Saratoga Springs/Old key West sorta guy.

Re: Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort

The Poly is in the process of being completely renovated. The new rooms are AMAZING!!! I'd highly recommend the Poly. You can't beat the South Pacific feeling and the view of the MK from the beach or the monorail!

Re: Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort

We ate at Ohana's for our 25th anniversary and we just fell in love with it.... I really wish they had not changed the menu since then, but that is ok...now we will have to try the new menu... the atmosphere was great and the food was even better a wonderful surprise.

Re: Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort

We tried Ohana's for the first time on our last trip (Dec 2005) and really enjoyed it. I think it was the best meal I've EVER had on WDW property. Those mashed taters were incredible...and those wings...WOW! I think I probably ate my weight in meat that night...
