We're going to WDW in Sept. taking advantage of the free dining plan. Question, I have more table service meals booked than I have credits for. Since CRT is 2 table service credits, should I just pay out of pocket for that? Anyone else ever been in this situation? Help please...your suggestions are most appreciated.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
There is so much food on the plan I'd avoid paying for any food at all out of pocket.
We worked it out so that on a certin day we used 2 counter meals to make up for the day we used 2 TS at Hoop de doo, but we did arrive after lunch and had that extra lunch credit. Though we would have easily been able to skip a meal during our stay as we were pretty full and busy all the time.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
For the CRT breakfast? If its' the breakfast, then pay out of pocket. You will have to determine if it's worth double points to actually decide. Add up the costs of two table service meals you have planned and look at it that way. I would say out of pocket would be best if it were up to me. You will be able to get two more meals on the plan. If it's the dinner ask yourself if you usually get the appetizers etc that go with the plan. If not, then definately pay out of pocket and just get the entree and drinks.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
We used two table meals at CRT once but would not do it again, and we paid for the dining plan. There were only two of us and we both paid two table services and only received one picture. Also for me - we get a lot more for our money using those Table service somewhere else.
And Buzz is right the dining plan is a lot of food but we are going to use two for Mickeys Backyard BBQ and we will pay for another meal but we are also taking our daughter her husband and our granddaughter in October so we have quite a few character meals planned.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
I would pay for a breakfast (not CRT) with cash. I made the miscalucation once and used too many credits. If you have a cheap dinner planned, mabye cash that and credit CRT. It really is a dollar and cents issue, what ever is the best savings.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
Yes I am going along with everyone else, if it is breakfast pay for it out of pocket, if it is dinner, on one day do two counter service so that you save up a table service. There is so much food on the dining plan that it is a shame to have to pay for anything out of pocket.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
Our sit down dinners (2 adults, 2 kids) averaged around $90-110 for each dinner (guesstimate). We did CRT breakfast out of pocket, since we figured there was NO WAY that breakfast was worth $180-220.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
I actually just gave this advice to a friend at work the other day. Look at what it would cost you out of pocket for CRT and look at what you are getting vs. what the points would get you elsewhere and what that would cost out of pocket. Is the breakfast 2 points? I think that's outrageous for breakfast, and if that's the case I would definitely pay with cash.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
I am taking the thought that Im paying ahead of time for the big meal and the counter service and snack are bonus. That way I will use the credits only at places where I can get about $40 worth of food per meal. At CRT for 2 credits would be $80 and the breakfast is not worth that much so just pay out of pocket.

Re: Should I pay out of pocket?
If you have kids with you that are going to eat off the kids menu, you can pay for a child's meal at another ts restaurant and then save that credit to use later. I have an 11 year old that often eats the kids meals. so I will pay myself when she does that and save that table service credit. If she does that 3 times, thats 3 extra ts meals we have for later.
