Icon5 Portobello Yacht Club?

Hi all,

Any opinions on the Portobello Yacht Club restaurant at Pleasure Island? The menu looks pretty delicious so I am considering it for my next trip.

Also, has anyone had any experience using the Disney Dining Plan here? I know it is accepted here but not sure if there are any restrictions.

Thanks!

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

I can't hlep you with any Dining Plan info, but Portobello's is one of our favorites. The food and service are both wonderful. We have eaten there quite a few times and have never been disappointed.

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

We ate there on the dining plan in 2004. Nothing reasonable was excluded. The food was OK, it was pretty late when we were there and I'd say we were too tired to really appreciate it. I still prefer the range of options at Levy's other restaurant, Fulton's Crab House, but Portofino's still good for Italian food lovers, and service is excellent.

Can't help you with the dining plan, but we make this a stop every trip to eat. The food is very good, and an outside table (weather oermitting) is very nice.

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

Thanks, everyone. I think we are probably going to go for it and try it out. I love trying new restaurants at WDW and the dining plan is a great excuse!

I didn't know PYC was included in the dining plan! I've been dying to try it! Please let me know how it is so I can try it next time.

I don't think it is on the dining plan... the disney world website does not list it under the dining finder as a DDP eligible restaurant, and it is not listed in their on line brochure. Or has it recently been added to the dining plan? You may want to double check to be sure it is covered ....

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

Yeah, I'd be interested to hear too. Word is the DTD restaurants are balking at accepting the DDE, but I don't know about the DDP.

I think part of the reason why Portabello, Fultons, and now Wolfgang are not accepting DDE is that Levy has their own discount/frequent diner card. Wolfgang is now operated by Levy's

Hold the phone - is DDE the same as the dining plan?

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

No, the Disney Dining Experience is a card that Florida residents or AP pass holders can get for a fee that allows 20% off at some restaurants.

The dining plan is different .... But I am not seeing this restaurant listed as participating in the disney dining plan, nor the DDE card.

Can anyone confirm whether this restaurant is a dining plan restaurant?

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

Hmm, a previous list I checked had this restaurant on it but the most current list does not. I may have to call to find out the real deal.

Re: Portobello Yacht Club?

Ok, so I just talked to someone at the Disney reservation line and he said that Portobello Yacht Club is NOT included on the dining plan.

Guess I will have to come up with somewhere else new to try! Maybe Wolfgang Puck's?
