Dinner at Chef Mickey's

I was curious how the dinner at Chef Mickey's was, food wise and character wise. I've heard good things about the breakfast but it looks like dinner will work best in our schedule.

I did both and I prefer the Breakfast over the dinner

more so on the food options.
breakfast is breakfast but when it comes to dinner I want good food and I didnt think their dinner was anything to brag about.
the only thing I liked about the dinner was the ice cream bar!

There is nothing I can say that is bad about the dinner seating, but I think most prefer the breakfast because you can hit the Magic Kingdom afterwards. I think most would like to see the fireworks while inside the parks rather than at the Contemporary.

We prefer to have dinner at Chef Mickey's when we go to WDW. The character interaction is great, and the food is pretty good. We always have a lot of fun there too. You get more time with the characters if you choose an early dinner time. Then, you still have time after dinner to go back to the MK and enjoy the fireworks.

We have only done dinner at Chef Mickeys, in fact we've never done a breakfast anywhere because we like to play LATE at night and sleep in the next morning...but we LOVE Chef Mickeys for dinner. Great interaction, one year we did feel like we were "pushed" through dinner and character time, but we visited again over Spring Break (with a party of 14) and had a wonderful time. After dinner we jumped on the monorail and back to MK for the rest of the night...it was open until 3AM!!!

We eat around 5 or 6pm so we're back in the parks LONG before the fireworks and parades.

I do the dinner almost every trip. I love it there. The food is very fresh and tasty or so my DD tells me. I only pick at the fresh stuff as buffet food for some reason now makes me a bit sickish. The characters are perfect, the service has always been great, and the food seems to be fresh and tasty. We are doing it again this trip, so it cant' stink right? lol

We always eat dinner at Chef Mickey's at least once. They have two meats on the carving board (turkey, ham, prime rib, lamb), cheese ravioli, mashed potatoes, salads, baby carrots, shrimp, etc. The Mickey-shaped cheese ravioli is so yummy. We find the "celebration" theme a little obnoxious. We don't mind the characters but the whole napkin waving thing is a bit annoying.

We also like the breakfast. The pancakes are better than the ones at iHop.

We've done both and both were good. The character interaction is very good and the surrounding rock! Literally, it is loud!

I can really reccomend the breakfast at Cheif Mickeys, if you like alot of loud fun over your pancakes and dont mind swinging you napkin in the air after every mouth full you'll have a great time! The younger kids seem to love this and its a great way to get geared up for the day. We've never really done a character dinner because were fussy eaters lol! But it sounds like they have a good selection so Id give it ago!

I did not care for Chef Mickeys at all... The only thing on the buffet that was really excellent was the prime rib. I wish that I had ONLY gotten the prime rib... And the tiny cheesecake tarts for dessert were pretty good... oh and that oreo thing was good.

It was freezing cold there, noisy, and the characters seemed rushed and annoyed. We also had to wait about 40 minutes for seating even with our ps reservations.

I think you'll find mixed reviews on this one. My family loved Chef Mickey's. We went in Oct. so maybe that made a difference. Character interaction was at a premium for us. Each character made two trips to our table and each one spent time with our kids playing and joking. Not just a photo, autograph and move on. They really made my kids feel like they were special. Food was good. Nothing really gourmet, but lots of kid friendly stuff and Mickey themed foods. Desserts were very good, and as mentioned before, prime rib was yummy. Servers were also very nice and attentive, we gave a nice tip. We don't do this every trip as we like to try all different places, but will definately do it again.

we had dinner at Chef Mickey's on our second trip there. i think about that visit all the time when i see our little picture in the magnet frame on our fridge. it was the night after we got engaged when we had dinner there.

anywho...... we had a lot of fun at Chef Mickey's. the food and chacter's were great. i didn't like having the pictures just thrown at us during dinner. there was quite a bit of pressure for us to buy them. i remember the guy came over and just placed the pictures on our table as if we already ordered them and purchased them. it would've been nice if the guy came up to the table and handed us a ticket so we can look at the pictures when we were done. you know one of those tickets that they had before the photopass that you can look at your picture before you buy. that way, you had some time and thought put into purchasing the pictures, not pressure.
other than that, we enjoyed our visit. we haven't had breakfast there yet but would like to in future trips.

We ate dinner here about 3 weeks ago and the food was absolutely disgusting. The character interaction was a lot of fun and the service was just okay. I would never eat dinner here again but I always tell people to try everything once - you can't go by what pthers say necessarily - we may have been there on an "off" night.

Personally I cannot fault Chef Mickeys. My only gripe connected tothe restaurant is that we never tried it sooner. In all the years we have vactioned at WDW, last year was the first time we frequented Chef Mickeys.

It was great. We have only had dinner there and that was lovely. NExt time we are going to try a breakfast there also. Everyone has differing opinions which is just as it should be but (IMO) CHF MKY'S is fab!

Oh yeah, I forgot about the picture dude! He was a real jerk! Take my advice,,,skip the picture altogether.
