Help settle a "discussion"

On a scale of one to ten, one being 'eh, forget about it' and ten being 'make 'em or regret it!' . . .

Are ADR's necessary for the week of Dec. 23-30?

For sure we'll be making ADR's for the Candlelight Processional. What about the rest of the week?

We were at WDW during Easter week last year and got away without making ADR's (PS's at that time). We were able to make our PS's in the morning before we left the resort. I'm thinkin' we need to make them ahead of time this time around 'cuz it's Christmas. DH thinks we can get away with "being spontaneous" again. What do you think?

Depends on where you are wanting to eat ... some places are probably not so bad and others are probably near impossible without an ADR....

For that week, I'd say your best bet is to make 'em. I'd give it an 8 on your scale.

What's the harm in making them? You can always cancel them later. It sure beats the alternative.

Re: Help settle a "discussion"

Yes, you will more than likely be better off with some ADr's. LEt me put this in perspective for you. My DD's little GF went Xmas week and her family wasn't totally prepared for dinners. They had several nights where they couldn't get a table anywhere or so late that they mine as well called it breakfast. I suggest you make one table ADR per day, so you at least know you are going to have a nice meal. If your family isn't into the table places, then just fly by the seat of your pants and grab counter service. Whatever works for you.

Re: Help settle a "discussion"

I'd agree with the posts above. Go ahead and make a few ADRs. Can't hurt, but NOT having any can leave you hungry and frustrated.

Re: Help settle a "discussion"

I'd think of any time of the year, that week between Christmas and New Years would be the busiest and therefore the most important to have ADR's.

I always say better safe than sorry - make the ADRs and then judge once you get there if you really need them or not. I would make them.

I can't believe you were so lucky before! I would say it would be a 10 for me. Make ADRs for sure.

Re: Help settle a "discussion"

Well, thank you very much everyone. I'm going to resist telling him I told you so. Well, I'll try to resist. Well, I'll control my tone of voice anyway. I'm makin' the ADR's and that's all there is to it! You're right, we can cancel them if plans change. Er, when plans change. Now we just gotta figure out where we're going to eat and when . . .

Re: Help settle a "discussion"

Yeah, even last night, it was SUPER hard to make an ADR...everything was booked!

I think you need to go ahead and make them, and if you want to change it when you get there, go ahead...but at least you'll have a back up, as previously stated. :c)

Re: Help settle a "discussion"

Make them. From what I've heard, since the dinning plan was introduced, it's been harder than ever to get a table.
