Dining in France at Epcot...what can you tell me?

DH mentioned he MIGHT want to eat in France. We've never been before!

I know there are two options there...Bistro de Paris and Chefs de France. Has anyone eaten at either of these places before? What are your opinions?

Not sure if I'll indulge him, but if these places get great review, maybe I'll THINK about it.

Thanks for any info you have!

Re: Dining in France at Epcot...what can you tell me?

We ate at Chefs de France 6 years ago. I can't remember how the food was, but I remember the service being excellent. It is one of our greatest WDW memories: as we were eating Perla came up to the window, looked at DDs food and then rubbed her belly. DD (then 5) had to run out of the restaurant to get her autograph.

Awww....how cute!!!!!!!!

I guess the food couldn't have been THAT bad..if it was, I'm sure you'd remember that!

Thanks!

Anyone else been to either of these places?

Re: Dining in France at Epcot...what can you tell me?

We love Chefs de France. We're planning on eating there again in September. The restaurant is beautiful and if you get a seat near the window, you'll feel like your dining in Paris. We've always enjoyed our meals there. Just 'French" enough. Bistro de Paris has much more authentic food - but it's not the best choice with kids.

We ate at Chefs De France for the first time, a few weeks ago.

Unfortunatley, I didn't take notes, but I can tell you the food was fantastic.

I would highly recommend it.

Re: Dining in France at Epcot...what can you tell me?

I asked DH again and he really wants to try a couple of new places while we are there! I think I might go with Chefs de France. I need something kid-friendly and NOT as escargots-sounding, ya know??? I really don't think I'd like snail...

Trust me, snail isn't bad.
It isn't served live, as most people tend to think.
I've eaten a lot worse food than that- such as gator tail, squid, and octopus.

Mmm- escargot! A little garlic butter...

Definitely do Chefs de France. It's very kid-friendly. Check out the menu at allearsnet.

Llama, every time I read something you write about food, I think we would have an absolutely fabuous time getting together and doing nothing but eat.

Escargot- had it once, and yum! Perhaps it's just because anything with garlic butter is going to be pretty tasty.

I think the menu for the Bistro looks wonderful, but do I read correctly that it is NOT on the dining plan?

Re: Dining in France at Epcot...what can you tell me?

The Dave agreed to Chefs de France for one reason and one reason only...
he likes to put on a fake french accent and say "Le Chefs de France..ahhhahaha" (or whatever that French noise french peeps always make in moves is..think Sebastian)

that was enough for me, I get to eat there! And I am totally looking forward to it!

Re: Dining in France at Epcot...what can you tell me?

I'll add my voice to the chorus to the praise for Chefs de France. The food is wonderful, kids can have a good time there (it's just fancy enough, but not too fancy), and it's a beautiful setting to dine in, especially if you can get a window table. It's also cheaper than Bistro de Paris.

Well, great stomachs think alike. Yes - everything's better with garlic butter.

According to allearsnet the Bistro isn't on the plan.
