We ate there last year, I guess that is semi recently in Disney terms. I would say the food was good and character interaction was great. The restaurant has great atmosphere and the service was great as well.

We were just there about a month ago.
The food was good, not great, but worth the trip. You do get a more "healthy" feeling after your meal there. The character interaction there is great! The way the place is set up, it's like it's only your table and the characters when they come by. You'll get some excellent pictures with out a ton of other people in the background.
