Hello WDW trip planners!

I see a lot of threads about ADRs and preferences for DDP table service meals.

The attitude I've had about my groups counter service meals has been, more/less, whatever's near at the approximate time we plan to eat our CSmeal based on the time we have an ADR for the big meal of the day.

But I have heard some places are better than others, more choices, more bang, for example, I have a co-worker who says, "Don't go to a place that only has single cheeseburgers - some places have double cheese burgers!"

My DW and my DD(doctor!) will smack me around if I order a double cheese burger. What are your favorite counter service meals at WDW?

Hello Greg, thanks for starting this thread.

The place where you are going to get the best variety of counter services is at WS in Epcot. The diversity of the choices is great, but I guess that that is what you'd expect from a place called World Showcase

At MK, the choices are not nearly that exciting. Pinocchio's Village Haus will give you a little something different than your standard burgers, hot dogs and chicken tenders.
El Pirata y El Perico is different too, but good luck finding it open.

DAK has two truly excellent counter service places, IMO. Flame Tree Barbecue, and Tusker House. Friendly debates are even started here as to which is better. I have my opinion, but suffice it to say that you really can't go wrong with either one of them.

The resorts all have their counter services. One that stands out as being unique is Pepper Market at CSR.

By the way, I see you are staying at POFQ this fall. Great choice! It's my favorite moderate resort.

We all have our favorites...mine are Pecos Bill in the MK (great chicken wraps and fixins bar!), the mexican CS in Epcot (the Electric Umbrella is also good for your "standard" CS fare), ABC Commissary in MGM and Flame Tree BBQ at AK.

When my lunch rang up there it was just over $17, with the dining plan it was a great deal.

We always try to eat healthier meals at the parks. Not because we're some sort of saints, but because we've found that eating greasy, heavy food makes us feel sick all afternoon. Some of our favourites are: Columbia Harbour House at the MK - the tuna sandwich is fantastic! Tusker House at AK - the rotessierie chicken is wonderful! At Epcot there are lots of choices in the countries. One of our favourites is the cheese plate in France. It's big enough for two, comes with an assortment of wonderful French cheeses, fruit and a bagette. The Commissary at MGM has some good choices too. The noodle bowl is very good!

Pecos Bill Pecos Bill Pecos Bill! It's in Frontierland at MK. DH and I love that place. Great burgers! They have other things too though.

I really like the food court at POR. we always go at least once for dinner. We also love boatwrights in POR especially for breakfast, but that counts as a sit down. I also second Columbia House the food there is just great especially if you have eaten your share of burger. I also love EOS at DtD

Earl of Sandwich wins HANDS DOWN for the best counterservice at WDW. I think I could eat there everyday. The Original....mmmmm

The Sunshine Seasons Food fair in the Land pavilion is the best counter service in Epcot. They have many choices for everyone's tastes.

Columbia Harbour House at the MK gets my vote, but I am like you in the past - just eat where I am.

The Sunshine Seasons is amazing! I wouldn't even classify it as "counter" food. It's definitely several steps above. I had a grilled salmon filet that was better than many sit-down restaurants.

Sunshine Seasons is VERY good!! I forgot about that one! I also felt like it was a step above Counter SErvice, and in that respect, it reminded me a little of the Pepper Market at CSR. (Lots of choices, etc.)
