Multiple ADRs?

Reading another thread where a member wa encouraged to make ADRs then cancel later if plans change.

Of course plans change but is making lots of ADRs - more than they can use - something anyone does? I hope that's not the case.

Can CMs see your existing ADRs when you're making more? If so, I would expect a reply like, "Sir, I show you already booked at Le Cellier for this time period. Do you want me to cancel that after we confirm Mama Melrose?"

Re: Multiple ADRs?

Good Question, no idea about the answer. I could never do that... make mult ADR's. I would nvever be able to keep track of that. I have to keep a notebook as it is. If I had mult extra ADR I would likely panic, hyperventilate and drop over.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I've had to call back to make changes from 4 to 6 people and have one more ADR that may yet change. I believe CM's can see all your bookings, they pulled up my existing ones and were very helpful rescheduling. They entered the new one, and deleted the old one only after they had a replacement booking in place. I was encouraged by a CM in one case to keep the old one in one in case I changed my mind since the replacement booking wasn't exactly what we wanted. I'd feel too guilty knowing I may be taking up unnecessary seatings so we'll just take our chances with what we have.

My pollyanna side says people wouldn't be greedy making their ADR's at WDW of all places, but who am I kidding

Re: Multiple ADRs?

When I have called double check all my ADRs the CM could see all of them at the same time. I'm not sure the CM can see all of them if you are just making an ADR.

I don't over book ADRs, I feel like that's wrong. I book what I think I will use and cancel if I have to. We do everything we can to keep what we booked.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

Nope, just make ADRs for each day, but not ones for the same meal at the same time.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I had dining call me the day that we made our CRT reservations because we were all trying to get them for our large party and we ended up with 3 seperate reservations for the same group. They called me and told me that I had to let 2 of them go. I was rather peeved however because I had to fight for the chance to confer with the rest of the party as to what time was best for all. And we did not know if we were all going as one group or if we wanted to split it. Im sure that they are aware of multiple bookings

Re: Multiple ADRs?

How would they know if you used a different name in your party or your husbands name?? I'm not planning to do this because I agree it would be inconsiderate to make a bunch of ADR knowing you weren't going to keep them. I'm just curious, because it sounds like people are doing it and they must have some way of getting away with it.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

When I am not sure of what restaurant I want to dine at,I book one in my name and one in one of my sister's names, using my home phone number for one and my cell phone number for the other. That way, they have no idea that there are 2 reservations for the same person at the same time.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I have done that once or twice, made two reservations for one night. I will do one in my name, one in my wife's, using different phone number, etc. I will call back and cancel the one I don't want later. It usually happens when we have a short trip, and can't decide where to eat.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I've had two in my name at the same time. Both in MY name. I was in the process of trying to narrow down WHERE Matt and I wanted to eat. SOme of you might remember the TR. We kept changing our mind...

We ended up canceling when we finally decided on...Tonys.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I had two at the same place on different nights for my October trip.

I did it because I was worried we'd be wrecked our first night and miss 'Ohana, so I made another ADR at 'Ohana for midweek. I actually cancelled that second ressie about a week after I made it. I decided I'll take my chances with the first night and let someone else have that slot. We're not on the DP, so if we don't have to have a certain # of TS spent by the time we leave.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I don't know about this one...hmmm...

I have never made multiple ressies either, and I don't think I'd ever really consider it. It just seems wrong to me, maybe someone else REALLY wanted to get into that spot, and when they called, it was booked, and then it's cancelled later and they never know. Now someone else missed out.

Maybe it's just because I've been in the restaurant business too long....

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I've never made multiple ressies either, but I think I probaly would if I couldn't decide where to eat or something, but I have made one for lunch and one for dinner and then decide that day which one we want to do, but I only did that once and I forgot to call and cancel the one we didnt want, oh well.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

We have never done this, but this trip I did make a breakfast reservation for CP just in case for the last day at Disney during our trip. What I mean is that we have always had breakfast there. This trip, since we are on the dining plan, I thought we would try dinner there. In case we did not like it or if we did not get as much character interaction as we usually get, I also made breakfast reservations. If our dinner goes well, then I will cancel the breakfast one.

Re: Multiple ADRs?

I don't see how booking the same place twice at different points during the trip would EVER be an issue...I mean what if you want to eat their twice.

I do however see a problem with booking two places at the SAME time. I may do it initally, but I always call and cancel one as soon as possible.
