Hollywood and Vine character meals..

According to Scott's PS Calculator site(I don't know if it's actually on the site yet but I got an e-mail from them) after March 23 there will no longer be a character meal at Hollywood and Vine in Disney/MGM!:devil They will only be serving dinner and there will be no characters! This means there will be no character meals at Disney/MGM! What does all this mean?!?! This is a real shame, it was one of our favorites the costumes were great! I only hope they are planning to open a diffferent character meal at one of the other restraunts in Disney/MGM!!!! Maybe Buzz and Woody, we can only hope!!!!!

Oh Matt, I hope you are right about the Toy Story character meal. My DS would just love it.

Just update the web site. I don't think any of the other restaurants are set up or themed for a character meal at MGM.

I don't understand this at all as character meals are a big draws for families. And don't they want to give families, especially ones with young children, a reason to come to MGM? Or, at least, eat at a sit down restaurant? :(

Confused in PS Land!

Matt and Scott, thanks for the information. I will see what else I can dig up on this. Thanks again!

Personally, I just see this as a step towards a new character breakfast in the same place with new characters and a new theme. I am not sure Disney wants to commit right now to a Toy Story themed breakfast with their current business relationship with Pixar in such a mess. I forsee Disney announcing a new deal with Pixar shortly followed by a Toy Story breakfast. It is the perfect place for it.

GARSH Mickey! I sure hope your right! I hate to see things discontinued at WDW especially in this uncertain atmosphere today!

I really believe a Toy Story breakfast would be as popular as Cinderellas'. We need something for the boys who are a little more "grown up". Please, please, please let it be in time for August!:D

August 16-23, Mattomouseman. I didn't want to take my DD out of school, so we have to go in the summer. I heard the last two months of Aug. are bearable if you must go in the summer. What do you think?

We're going down from the 20th thru the 29th. Staying at Univeral's Royal Pacific the 1st two days and then the rest at the Poly. My two boys are are in school and my wife is a school teacher so it is the only time we can really go. It's either then or the real expensice times. I have a few friends who have gone late in August and they say the crowds are low at that time. We've been in early July and late in July, it is hot but hey it's summer and it's supposed to be hot! :)

My DH is a abrasive and explosive blaster:dazed. He is contracted out of state from Sept thru May. We really do not have a choice either. I am not really worried about the heat...not so much the crowds either. I just hate waiting so long to go!!!:laugh

We have been sleep, eating and breathing Disney ever since we made the decision to go. My DD is watching the Vacation Video non-stop. I am afraid it will wear out...or she will!

With my job I can get vacation just about anytime I want (I'm second in senority in my unit) but with the kids and my wife we are stuck with the summer months or the real high volume holidays. Although one year I would like to go for Christmas and even for Halloween. I woul dreally like to DL for Christmas to see the Nightmare before Christmas version of the HM!
We've been to WDW for Thanksgiving it was crowded but bearable. The crowds thinned out by Sat. afternoon and we pretty much walked onto to everything, even SM, BTMRR and Buzz Lightyear!:)

The last two weeks in August should be fine for you, since most Central Florida school districts should be back in school,as well as most southern school districts.

Yes we know, that is one of the reasons we chose to go that week. That plus the fact that my DW wants something other then going back to work to look forward to at the end of the summer! LOL:)

I am really glad to hear the last two weeks are okay. I have been told to avoid the summer at Disney like the plague. I just wish late Aug. codes would come out!:(
