Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
we are coming up on 180 days this weekend and Im trying to figure out what we are doing for dinner the night I want to see spectro and wishes- So Im debating between Crystal palace for dinner and the Dinner in the Castle. I did some research and found that the dinner is fun for those that have gone but that they thought it was expensive for what it was- is it worth the dinner plan to do the CP? Is it worth 2 meals to do the castle? Im wanting to stay near the MK park so I dont miss spectro magic as I have missed it twice already and its my favorite parade!!

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
Just based on price alone I wouldn't pick the castle, in my opinion it isn't worth 2 credits. I haven't been to Crystal Palace but it's very popular. We like Liberty Tree Tavern for a sit down meal in MK (or the Plaza Restaurant if we are looking for something lighter). Are you willing to go to a MK resort? 'Ohana is always good.

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
CRT is expensive, but it's one of those unforgettable experiences. Years and years from now, I guarantee you, that meal will still be clear in your memory.
With that said, CP and LTT are both great choices and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. As a side note, if you want a good spot for Spectro, secure a spot on the sidewalk early. Back in January, we sat on the sidewalk in front of the Emporium for a good 45 minutes before the start of the parade, but it was well worth the wait. Also, I would say that while my spot in front of the Emporium was a good one, it's even better to be somehere around Town Square, close to where it means Main St USA. This way you can see both sides of the floats as they make their turn to go up Main St.

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
Crystal Palace is a wonderful place for dinner(lunch too). We always enjoy it. We have also had dinner at Cinderella's, and although the food is just ok, the atmosphere is just breathtaking and our service there has always be just about the best out of any at WDW. If you have never done it, I would say go for it.

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
I think I have to ditto all of the above as we have eatne in both and both of them have a special place in our
's. CRT is awesome and a magical place to eat ~ but simply for the atmos and whole experience of eating in the castle. The food however, is just so so and not worth the $$. IMO you are paying for the experience here. CP on the other hand ticks all boxes. It is reasonable, fun and food has always been to a great standard. As it is buffet style, you can also eat as much as you wish~ whereas CRT is just what you order. I think if you have never eaten in the castle then you should do that, even if you don't ever do it again.

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
Im starting to lean towards breakfast at CP and Dinner at CRT and skipping the cindy breakfast since dinner is only a few dollars more per person but you actually get a nice meal out of the deal. We have done CRT for breakfast two times before so its not a matter of never doing it- dinner we have not tried. I cant however get a menu for CP breakfast- anyone have one?

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
You can find the CRT menu at Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner
Been to both, ditto to the comments above. I will never forget the sight of my hulking 16 yr DS dancing through the restaurant with Piglet and the little ones at CP. (I always thought piglet was a boy but I got the distinct impression this one had a feminine side under that plush costume that liked hulking 16 yr olds. I have several pictures of hugs and kisses on the cheek. Of course it could have been just the fun of seeing DS blush from ears to toes that was the motivation).CRT - Fantasy vs CP Family Fun.

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
The breakfast buffet at CP is great. All the requisite items. Breads, omlets, meats, corned beef hash, potatoes, panckes, fruit, kids buffet w/Mickey waffles and breakfast pizza. The breakfast at CRT was all you can eat, but it is plated, so you don't choose how much or little you want.
Edit: It's also a lot brighter and airy in Crystal Palace than the Castle.

Just remember at CRT dinner, you don't get the Princesses if that's important!

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
Aside from the atmosphere of the castle - and the very idea that you're THERE - I've never felt it was worth the price. We've eaten there a couple times - once so our dd could say she did (she was a huge Cindy nut back then) and the other time when our ds's fiance could do the same.
CP is a great place to eat, but I agree with others who suggested Liberty Tree or perhaps one of the MK resorts.

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
I cant believe this! My brother and his family are paying the $$ for the breakfast!! That is nuts! They have been there twice!!! I suggested the dinner instead but they are sticking with the breakfast. Granted they are only a family of 4 but still- its $108 for them to eat breakfast!! I think that is silly personally- I think we may be eating with Pooh (or bearpooh as Parker calls him) that will be really nice for the little guys

Re: Crystal Palace Dinner vs Cinderella Castle
The CP is a great place to eat. Buffets at Disney are all awesome. Plus a buffet dessert bar. The kids have their own buffet. Characters come in for pics and autos.
Lovemysons, your avatar is cool. My wife just got done with our kitchen re-do and she is just as excited about hers. |
