parking at mk for dinner at ohanas

Can we leave our vehicle at MK parking and take the resort monrail from MK park to the poly then catch monrail again to TTC? Our ressies for Ohanas is at 6:50 and MK will close this night at 8. Or would it be easier to just walk from the Poly back to TTC and catch trams back to parking lot?

I guess I should have mentioned I was concerned about the mass exit from MK if we take the monrail back to MK.

I really think you are able to park at the Polynesian if you have a ADR for it. I am not certain if they have a time limit on that, but I always thought that if you had an ADR for that day, you were able to park at the resort's lot. That will save you the aggrevation of going back to the MK when the masses exit. You could also just go to the TTC center which is right near the Polyesian.

Last month we had a 5 PM reservation at Kona Cafe, so we parked at the Poly. After dinner, off we went hopping. When we were finished, we returned to the Poly and picked up the car. Supposedly, there is a three hour limit for hotel parking for non-guests of that resort, but in practice, nobody's worrying because you wouldn't have gotten into the parking lot unless central reservations didn't show you were dining with them.

kphil, at first I thought I understood your plans but based on the replies you have gotten so far, but I am having second thought

Are you planning on going to the Magic Kingdom for several hours or even the entire day before your dinner at O'hanas, or...

Are you planning to park, have dinner and then hop between resorts or...

Park, have dinner, and return to car?

gatour yes exactly! we will be at MK that day then head to dinner at Ohanas so we will be parked at MK. I was thinking we could take the monrail to the poly and then walk to the TTC to catch trams to lots instead of taking monorail back to MK switching to TTC monrail then TTC, tram lots...I don't think it's a long walk back to TTC from Poly.

When you park at MK parking lot, your car is actually already at TTC. And YES, you can just walk over to TTC from the Poly. The walkway is right behind the Tahiti Longhouse. SO CONVENIENT!

There is no need to change monorails at the MK. The resort monorail stops at the TTC.

For quickness it would probably be better to walk to the TTC. The resort Monorail goes clockwise, so you would board at Poly and then proceed to the GF, MK, CR and finally the TTC. But if you like riding the monorail then for it and don't worry about changing trains.

After dinner you'll NEED the walk back to the TTC.

It's a nice 5-10 minute walk.

It really is a lovely walk. When I stayed at the Poly, we stayed in Tahiti right near the walkway. It was SO CONVENIENT!!!!!!

You are probally best off parking at the TTC, but I know for a fact, regardless of you ADR time, you are able to park at the Polynesian...many, many people on here have done it and still do it. I don't think you are cheating anyone if you have an ADR. It's when people have a fake ADr they never intend on using just to get the free spot that annoys me most. You can honeslty do it either way. The fairest way of course would be to just park at the TTC and walk over to it when you get done with you meal. You have access to both MK and the polynesian from that location.

We parked at the Poly for our ADR.

It's funny, security makes you "show" a driver's license, but I've yet to have a guard actually look at it long enough to even catch my name, let alone tell if it's legit.

For quickness it would probably be better to walk to the TTC. The resort Monorail goes clockwise, so you would board at Poly and then proceed to the GF, MK, CR and finally the TTC. But if you like riding the monorail then for it and don't worry about changing trains.
