Re: New years eve dinner
Gosh - so many choices. Any of the World Restaurants would be great. Is there a type of food you particularly enjoy? Do you want quiet (well, Disney-quiet) or are you looking for something with a bit more going on? Whatever you decide, make an ADR as soon as possible.

Re: New years eve dinner
We made reservations (OK, priority seatings, ADRs, what are they called?!) for Chefs de France at Epcot at 5:30pm on New Year's Eve, so we should be seated and will be able to raise our glasses and welcome in the New Year on French time by 6pm (6 hours ahead of North America). Just thought it would be a neat thing to do, because the kids rarely stay awake till midnight. Ooooh, I can't wait!

Re: New years eve dinner
I've heard the crowds at the parks on New Years can be body-to-body. Have you thought about dinner at one of the resorts? If it were me I would go to California Grill on top of the Contemporary because then you can see the fireworks at MK without having to deal with the crowds.

Re: New years eve dinner
Crowds generally don't bother me or slow me down in WDW. I would prefer to either stay in the park or at a resort near the MK. Either the WL or GF would be nice. I think I am leaning towards CP.

Re: New years eve dinner
We ate at Chefs de France on Dec 31 for dinner at 5:30 PM, in order to be done eating in time for the early Illuminations. It wasn't that good, and the most disappointing was their creme brulee. But, by the time I made my reservation, I don't know where else I could have gotten in.
By the way, both Epcot and Magic Kingdom have two diferent shows on New Year's Eve. Epcot runs two variations, Illuminations:Peace On Earth and Illuminations: New Year's around the World(that's my name for it). MK's early show is what I refer to as Holiday Wishes and the late show, I'll guess because I didn't see it, is some sort of variation on Wishes or Fantasy in the Sky. So, if you're planning dinner at Cali Grill, you could wind up seeing only the early show, or no show at all, as I don't think any of the restaurants stayed open to midnight. But to not be in one of the parks at midnight is missing the point of going to WDW for New Year's Eve.
