Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
I've been to MGM several times, but have never been to either H&V or MM. Which do you guys recommend for dinner? It's a day where we'll be at Animal Kingdom in the morning, then hop on over to MGM for the evening.
Thanks!

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
We have been to both and prefer MM definitely. We were not too impressed with Holleywood and Vine--just another buffet to us. We will be going back to MM for the Fantasmic Package again this trip.

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
My family has been to H&V about 5 times and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I think the selections are wonderful as is the service. The food is a nice selection and all you can eat. No waiting for food....just hop up and go! The kids have their own choices, too, which is SO nice if you have picky eaters. I highly recommend giving it a try sometime. We usually eat there around 5:00 cause we get the Fantasmic Dinner Show pass with our meal, so they usually seat you between 4 and 5 for the dinner show pass seatings.
Check out the menu for MM's: Mama Melrose Dinner - Disney MGM Studios and for H&V: Hollywood and Vine Dinner - Disney-MGM Studios

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
Well, in my opinion, it depends on the fussiness of your party. MM doesn't have a very diverse menu, in fact, there has always only been one dish I get there which was some penne vodka dish. The food quality is good in my opinion but not very diverse for fussier eaters . H&V has a little bit of everything I could have imagined and I liked the food quality there too. My tendency would always be MM b/c of atmosphere, MM is a lot more quiet, less bright, not as much hub-bub as a buffet.

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
We ate at Hollywood and Vine on New Year's Day (no special menu, but who cares) and liked it, though nothing to rave about. If they'd gone with the Pixar characters instead of Playhouse Disney, I'd be going back. Now I won't. Haven't done Moma Melrose yet, mostly because wife doesn't really care for Italian food.

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
I enjoyed MM's but I dont think it's anywhere I'll go back any time soon...Italian was OK..but it was overpriced, I've never tried H &V but I have heard good things and I hope to someday soon!

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
Thanks everyone! I'm seeing a trend towards MM - looks like that's the winner!

Re: Hollywood & Vine vs. Mama Melrose
We were pleasantly surprised with MM in July. In the past the food quality was just ok, but this trip they turned it up a notch. The food was quite good and excellent service. I recall I had the eggplant which was different but very good, and my sister had the tender steak which was excellent. We had 10 in our party and everyone enjoyed their meal.
