?Fulton's Crab House?

My DH and I are going to WDW for our DS's 5th Bday and our 10th anniversary. We plan to leave our DS with my inlaws and have a special dinner out. How does Fulton's sound?? (We are also going to 'Ohanna, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Chef Mickey's, 50's P.T., The Plaza, and Tony's.) I want to have a very nice dinner out for our 10th anniversary and I told DH he could pick, after looking at all the menus he picked Fulton's. Did he make a good choice????

I like Fulton's. While it personally doesn't compare to Flying Fish or Jiko, it is a great choice. The crab there is awesome as is the clam chowder. I think you both will really enjoy it.

The one downfall is that it is quite noisy, and you will have to wait so get a PS (can't be done through Disney, but they can give you the number).

I'm not sure he looked at Flying Fish. hmmm....... I think I have the number and can't call until 30 days out. It looked like a large place and I thought it might be a little loud. I hate to change his mine for him after I told him he could (okay, I told him he had to) pick where we eat that night. I think he like the large menu and the fact that it is at DD so we can just walk over to PI.

Hi Disney Teacher, My family did eat at the FLying Fish, not a noisey place, a little on the pricey side, but good food. Also, I remember for our 33rd anniversary we ate at the Yachtman's Steak House, excellent food. That of course was very pricey, oh but what the heck you only live once. Enjoy, whatever you choose!!!!! :) JOANN

Don't get me wrong, and please don't change. Fulton's is a fine choice, you will really, really like it. They have great food all around and is a great choice. We actually had a dinner planned there for our 15th anniversary trip, but it was raining so hard we didn't hand around DTD too much and just headed back to the Poly and grabbed something to eat. We only had two nights, and it was one of our choices, so that gives you an idea.

Gee, with all these great reviews coming in about Fulton's Crab House, I guess we will give it a try in May. Actually, our anniversary is the end of April, but I guess celebrating our 34th anniversary at Fulton's could be quite a great treat!!!!!!
It just goes to show you, it seems you are never to old to get some good advice. Thanks!!!! JOANN

Thanks Mickey, I think we will stick with our first choice of Fulton's. It seems like we have our favorite places to eat when we go ('Ohana, Chef Mickey's, 50's) and don't always try new places. This year I made it a goal to eat at 2 new places, Fulton's is one of those two places.

I highly recommend Fultons! I recommend an early dinner. You will be able to get the best seats that way. Fulton's opens at 5, so call ahead for a 5 pm reservation. You will be treated to a nice table in a small dining room, overlooking the water. We have gone as late as 8:00, but we had to wait and were seated in a very busy room. That absolutely killed the atmosphere.

Fultons has a casual elegance. The food is simple and fresh. We love the blue crab claws and grilled lobster tail. It is a bit pricey, but a very nice treat.

One last thought, make this an adults night out (like you already said). The meals at Fulton's are ment to be savored, and enjoyed...slowly. The courses are served with plenty of time in between for relaxing and talking. Not a good situation for little kids.

Happy planning!

Thanks trish, I feel better about DH choice now. We plan to enjoy a nice evening out for our 10th anniversary. My inlaws can finally babysit our DS since we are all going together.

I have to agree also. We loved Fulton's too. Just a small little suggestion is to look into the California Grille at the top of the Contemporary Resort. The view of the MK is amazing. And the food is fantastic. :)

Thanks WEDINDISNEY, I'm glad to hear you like Fulton's. I thought about CG but like the menu better at Fulton's. Plus, I told DH to pick and he did, I would hate to tell him I changed his mind!!

Sorry to disagree with the majority, but I'd pick California Grill over Fulton's any day of the week. For what you're going to spend at Fulton's for not-much-above-average food, you can get a really exquisite meal at California Grill that includes the most spectacular view in the World. Time it right, and you'll also get a bird's-eye view of the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. My wife and I are annual passholders who live 15 miles from the park and we probably eat at a Disney restaurant a couple of times a month. Locals don't go to Fulton's because it's a tourist trap. Locals do, however, go to CG because it's one of the best restaurants anywhere in Florida. Fulton's isn't even a Disney restaurant -- it and the nearby Portobello Yacht Club are owned and operated by Chicago-based Levy Restaurants. Treat yourselves to the California Grill. You won't be sorry!
