Meal Vouchers, what would you pay?

I have a chance to pick up (4) of those "quick and casual" meal vouchers for Disney World. Wondering how much you thought they were worth?
I've herd that you can get a meal in the price range of 35 to 45 dollars for just one of those vouchers, but am wondering if that is actually true or not.

Thanks in advance!!

Quick and Casual meal vouchers cost $11.50 from Connections, and are only good at various fast food stands around the parks. I had trouble getting the value of food up over $11.50 per voucher, since we typically do NOT eat desert.

It is definately NOT worth $35. Is this an eBay scam?

whoa, glad I asked. Guess 50.00 for (4) is not a very good deal.
Thanks

Nope. I'd risk joining Connections for that price, plus connections doesn't charge shipping.

Connections charges a big fee to join and I've read lots of bad reports about people getting ripped off. Mousesavers has a lot of info about Connections vouchers that might be helpful along with an interesting link to a "rip of" site that reports some questionable activity. http://www.mousesavers.com/connections.html
Buyer beware!

actually, there is one restaurant where you can have a $45 meal for that coupon. i've done it. beaches and cream at the yacht club resort. and the only way it becomes worthwhile is if you order the kithen sink for desert. there were 5 of us and we couldn't finish it but the desert itself cost $21-$25 dollars.

otherwise, i didn't feel they were worth it. i actually liked the vouchers at AK better!

Connections (and the vouchers) has been discussed in great detail here at DC in the past. (If you do a search on the front page of DC I am sure that the previous links will pop up.)

As far as Connections being a rip-off: I, too, heard that some folks had trouble in their dealings with the company. In fact, I communicated with Mary Waring about this when she removed the info from Mousesavers. However, I signed up for the trial program two separate times (once each of the last two years), and I had no problems at all. I cancelled my membership after the trial period and received a full refund for the fee. (The experience cost me $1 for processing the membership materials.)

I think that some folks may have been upset when they purchased gift certificates for restaurants or stores during their trial. When you bought these gift certificates, the 20% discount that Connections promises was only credited to the credit card account used at the end of a calendar month. As a result, if you canceled your trial membership before your acct. was credited, you ended up paying the full cost of the certificates you purchased. No savings were received at all. In fact, you may have actually lost money by purchasing gift certificates that you didn't need in the near future (so if one bought $100 worth of gift certificates to the Olive Garden thinking that one would be receiving a $20 rebate, but then canceled the memebrship before the rebate was posted, one spent $100 and received no savings benefit at all. Not a good investment! On the other hand, one didn't actually lose their cash because the certificates are valued at the full amount purchased.) But, as you can see, there was some confusion attached to the program.

By the way, I am not absolutely certain because I am no longer a member, but I think that all of the meal vouchers for WDW expire on May 31, 2003. As far as I know, certificates with a later expiration date have not been available (yet?)

I definitely think that there are pros and cons to the vouchrers. But, as already mentioned, buyer beware!

Lopo - another DC member here just bought some and checked the dates and they now say 2004.

I totally forgot about Beaches and Cream! You're right!
