World Showcase: If you could only pick two

Hi, starting the planning early, I am planning two Epcot World Showcase dinners for our trip. One the night we arrive and one the night before we leave. There will be 8 adults and 6 kids aged
3 to 9. Please tell me which two you would choose with such a mixed group???? Thanks in advance you Disney experts!!!!!
:) Amy

In Japan the Teppanyana (sp?) has always been a lot of fun and a great meal? The tables seat about 8 people around a grill where the chef is as much fun and watching your food being cooked is as good as any Disney entertainment.

Close... Teppanyaki is definately a great place to eat. We ate there on our honeymoon 3 years ago. They have those grill at the table things like Benihanas. I also like San Angel Inn in Mexico. I love the view in there.

Almost all World Showcase restaurants have children's menus that will have something for the youngsters. That being the case, I would recommend choosing restaurants that appeal to the adults in your party.

Certainly one restaurant not to miss is Chefs de France. Delicious food, nice atmosphere. The children's menu at Chefs de France includes:

Blanc De Poulet Aux Nouille - Breaded chicken strip served with pasta

Croquette De Boeuf En Brioche - Ground beef steaks in a brioche bun, served with French fries

Filet De Perche Frit Avec Pommes Frites - Fried filet of orange roughy served with French Fries

All meals Include a kid's soft drink and ice cream.

At Nine Dragons in China, the kid's menu is:

Fried rice and egg roll

Sweet and sour chicken

China Doll children's cocktail - $1.50

And in Italy, at L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante, kid's can choose between:

Spaghetti al pomodoro - with Alfredo's tomato sauce and meatballs

Fettuccine All'Alfredo - child's portion of Alfredo's famous original creation

Lasagna alla Modenese - strips of pasta layered with Bolognese and cream sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses

Italian chicken nuggets - baked tender chicken nuggets with roasted potatoes and a tomato and parmesan cheese dip

Strawberry or electric blue slush

Kid's cappuccino - hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles

All children's meals are in the $5 to $6 range.

There are many more possibilities, but this will give you a good idea of what's there. Enjoy!

I'd say Teppanyaki and either the Garden Grill or Akershus. Both are Buffet. Garden Grill is Character, the restaurant rotates, and is usually not that crowded. Akershus is Authentic and has more food options. Both are unique experiences.

I can't say enough great things about The Biergarten. My tip for there is to go to the last lunch seating at 3:45 pm. They start bringing out dinner selections at 4,but you still pay just the lunch price, which is about a 5 dollar difference.

I would have to LeCellier for one and then the Tepenyaki in Japan! It is a blast to eat at the grill while the chef cooks up dinner! It is a show in itself!

How about Rose & Crown? Just make sure you time it so you're there (preferably outside) for Illuminations.

I'm going to surprise you....

I would head toward the UK and then walk right out the International Gateway. My choice would be one dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse and one dinner at the Cape May Cafe Clam Bake. Both are within a 5 minute walk of World Showcase.

I would say my two favorite Epcot restaurants are SAN ANGEL INN in Mexico and LE CELLIER in Canada. I have never been disappointed with either of these restaurants! However, San Angel Inn might not be a perfect spot for dinner with the kids. It is very dark and romantic, over looking El Rio del Tiempre (am I spelling that right???).

I vote teppanyaki, and garden grill...

Both are sure to be pleasers for the adults and entertaining for the kids.
