Aunt Pollys

Has anyone eaten at Aunt Pollys? Is it open seasonally, and if so, is it open in June? Do you need reservations for lunch?

I'm pretty sure they only have PB & J now and you do not need ressies. It is seasonal now too. I think Tom Sawyer Island needs to be updated or changed now a days. I've always been partial to Neverland , but the Theme just doesn't fit. :p

I think they even had fried chicken at one time. I thought they cut back to PB & J. It appears that they are just a snack stand only now. :nooo:

I think you are right WDWFan. I seem to remember buying a whole brown-bag lunch there a few years ago.

I highly recommend the Apple pie Sundae though. Very tasty.

Thanks for the info....We will probably cross the river to check it out. Hopefully they have some good food for us.
My DW has wanted to try it because of it's "charming" look. We have passed on it every year to go to Pecos Bill's . I'm sure during our visit we will have lunch at both places.
Thanks again!!

Aunt Polly is open if the island is open. It a great place to sit in the afternoon for a rest while the kids are playing on the island. I love sitting on the rocking chairs and watch the ducks go after the pellets you can buy ther to feed them. We alway try to go there for an hour or so to rest and to get away from the crowds.

One of our favorite things to do at MK is to pack our lunch sandwiches and go over to TSI and eat. We then let our 6 and 9 year old boys play on the island. I've grown quite fond of the caves. We can then have an Aunt Polly snack before we go back to the real world!

When I was there last year, it was the week of April 27th and Aunt Polly's was open. I didn't have the pbj, I think I had turkey and swiss or something like that. Or maybe ham...doh! I can't remember. But it was really inexpensive and made a nice lighter lunch. Actually I think it was turkey, because they served it on Rye, and I don't like Rye, so I had to ask for different bread and it wasn't a problem of course. It was pretty good. Seemed like we also got chips and maybe a cookie...I'll have to look at some old posts of mine. I actually said what I had then, but now I can't remember.:dazed

Tinkerbell,

I just read in my All Ears Newsletter that Aunt Pollys is now open until September 1st! So you should be able to visit it on your trip! Yeah!

Glad to hear that it is still open because I had read that it was being slowly phased out. They used to have the best fried chicken. But I haven't been to the island in several years because the line on the ferry just looked too long and too hot!

I have read several post where people didnt care for Tom Sawyer's Island .. I have to defend it. like someone else here said its really nice to sit in the rockers and relax .. the girls always love playing on teetering rock and exploring .. there are the rabbits and ducks .. of course my DGD's love critters of every kind so the love feeding the duck most of thier lunch we get at Aunt Polly's. we like the fort and the bridges and the caves.. I dont guess it is for everyone .. if you have to have excitement then no .. there is no reason to go there .. but one of my favorite things is the chickens in the fort :) yep silly I guess but its a really nice place to get away from the crowds for a bit and have a nice quiet lunch. DH and the girls also like to sit and play checkers.
