Okay, so I have been thinking of what ADRs we want to make since I will be able to make them in the next month or so. I'm confused on how to plan so far in advance. Are park hours out 6 months in advance so I can have an idea of what parks have EMH? How do you all do it?
My initial planning says since we are going to go in August that I would want to plan a lot of TS lunches to get out of the midday heat and maybe CS at dinner time except for a couple of exceptions when we want to do TS dinners.

When it came time for me to make our ADR's the schedule for park hours had come out for that time frame as well..

The EMH are consistent on day of week for a particular park, so if the current EMH are that EPCOT currently has them on Monday and Thursday then more than likely they will be the same days of week in August. Note: I just made up the days above without checking the current schedule

In regards to doing TS for lunch and then CS for dinner is an excellent idea for the reason you mentioned. We do this a lot.

Sounds like a very good idea. There might be a few exceptions where you'd want to have the TS dinner: Mickey's BBq, etc.

Also, check the menus to make sure that you'll find all you want at lunch...

You might not make out as well dollar wise by eating lunches at TS restaurants. There's nothing that says you can't take an hour to eat a cs lunch at Cosmic Ray's or Sunshine Seasons.
The sit down lunch menus are usually lighter fare and also cost less than dinners. Many of the better places do not open for lunch. Buffets are better paid out of pocket to maximize benefits of the dining plan. This is also a way that you can save up extra credits to eat at Narcoossee's, California Grill, Flying Fish, or Yachtsman's Steakhouse.
In summer, it's going to be hot and muggy. Even if the sun is out in the morning, it will rain in the afternoon, between three and four. You would do better to go back to the hotel during the afternoon and nap.

If the hours are not posted, I try to plan according to the previous year's hours. But it is much easier to plan when you know the hours for each day.

oh, I hope I hope I hope!! lol! If its not during that time I am really thinking about rescheduling and doing MVMCP - never done that. But, then I would not get food and wine or MNSSHP. So, fingers and toes are crossed for free dining!

We are in Fort Wayne! We are also hoping for free dining, but we'll buy anyway because we have never had the dining plan and would really like to try it! Have fun on your trip!

If you work it right, the dining plan is a very good option. Not like the "dining plan" they have at Disneyland (vouchers, don't ask). For $38 a day per adult you get a counter meal which can total as much as $16, a $4 snack, and a sit down dinner that can cost as much as $50 per person.

im trying to convince DH we NEED to go to Ft Wayne in April/May for the vera bradley sale! LOL! Of course, I should be saving all the $ for WDW (he says)! LOL! Have fun!

Last year was the first year that I did not go in like 6 years because last few years it was INSANE! I plan on going this year because I want a new bag for ...Disney...my DH thinks I have way too many Vera Bradleys, but oh well...
