Meals during special parties

Can anyone help with this? I have been to the very merry CHristmas party and the Halloween party. I am now planning the pirate princess party.

I cannot remember if the counter service places are open during these times.

I seem to remember that they were not, but if you had a sit down meal, then you were ok.... Can anyone else help with this? I am planning my own trip and a friend who has never been so I want it to be perfect...

I have never been to a hard ticket event but I can't imagine the counter service restaurants not being open. I'm sure that someone who has been will help you out.

Re: Meals during special parties

I think that I really remember it being closed... I still cannot remember. I remember that we were at The Christmas party and that there was no where to eat and that we did not eat dinner that night...

Re: Meals during special parties

Cosmic rays was open during MNSSHP - but there was only 1 area open (the sandwiches). Also, there was a dance party at Cosmic Ray's, so that may be part of why they were open. I honestly can't remember about the rest. Allears.net doesn't list any as being open, just Tonys and Liberty Tree Tavern. Would you be able to call the diing #? Would they know? I am SOOOO jealous - I wish we could go to this!! But, MNSSHP is awesome, so I can't complain (much)!

Re: Meals during special parties

you could always call wdw dining and ask them for sure. then if you do have a place in mind you can see if they will be open for sure or not.

just my 2 cents any how. I hope to go to MVMCP this year and just got the dates of the parties so now I need to plan for the meal someplace on those days and bigger yet hope to get tickets as well.

Re: Meals during special parties

During MVMCP 2004 and 2005, most of the counter service locations were converted to cookie and cocoa distribution locations. I'm not sure about MNSSHP, but I would imagine it would be similar.

The CP and Tony's are the only places that are open to serve actual food, but I don't believe either stay open late.

Recommendation: eat before you go. There's too much to miss otherwise.

Re: Meals during special parties

Cosmic Ray's is open and in fact has a live DJ during both events. Not sure about the others, mostly because Cosmic Ray's is good enough for me if I need to eat during the party.
Oh, also, you can watch the parades from Cosmic Ray's as they go around the hub.

I've eaten at Tony's during the Halloween Party, but I wouldn't plan on being seated after 9. Not sure about Liberty Tree. Crystal Palace has never been open during any party I've been to. I'm pretty sure you can always get a hot dog at Casey's.

Re: Meals during special parties

Thanks guys... I talked to my friend who is going and she reminded me that they suggest making an ADR when you buy those tickets. I called and made an ADR before the pary starts so that we can be ready for the party and already be in the park. I was able to make a reservation for 8... can you believe it???
I also made a Le Cellier reservation and last week I was able to get a Princess lunch reservation inside the castle. The ticket lady said that she was shocked that I could get those reservations so close to our trip (about 40 days out). I told her that we were excited about it.
She said that I should buy a lottery ticket. She was hysterical and very nice too!

Probably a good idea. The party schedules are pretty tight. In order to do and see everything you need every bit of the alotted time. At MVMCP in Nov. we missed one of the stage shows in Tomorrowland because there simply wasn't enough time.

Eating before you go is a great idea!
