Whispering Canyon Cafe
WCC has always in the past been one of our favorite places to eat. During Christmas however, we were there 2 times. One for lunch and another time for Christmas breakfast. The food---great!! However, I feel they have gotten carried away with the yelling and screaming. Has anyone else experienced this? There was so much yelling that I had a hard time hearing what people at my table were saying. I don't mind them having fun and stuff but I think it has gone too far. I don't go on vacation to be yelled at and hear waiters screaming across the room to each other. Some of the stuff I felt was insulting to people.

Re: Whispering Canyon Cafe
Wow I am sorry to hear that!
I have never eaten here, but it sounds like a lot of fun.I can understand how the screaming/yelling could quickly get over the top though. I hope it's not too bad, so it doesn't turn off more patrons!

Re: Whispering Canyon Cafe
The last time we were there, I had a headache (not uncommon for me after a day in the sun) and we had to leave. It was too much noise for me just waiting in th lobby for our table.
I always tell people: you have to be in the mood for WCC.

Re: Whispering Canyon Cafe
i guess it depends...Dave and I went there once for dinner and we are totally not the "yelling type" but i heard amazing things about the food so we went and actually our waitress basically left us alone...which was good because we were sending out the "please don't mess with us vibe"...we even ask for ketchup and she even winked handed us a bottle and said "I'll spare you the humiliation".
We really loved her!

Re: Whispering Canyon Cafe
We were there once. There was a lot of good nature ribbing with our waitress "Susie Lies-a-lot" and the tables around us, until one of the guests at another table called her fat. You could tell it really hurt her feelings. I did my best to be encouraging--in a fun way--after that.
We felt the atmosphere was neat, but the food was not all that good.

Re: Whispering Canyon Cafe
We went for dinner in Nov. Our waitress "Candy Cane" was super. My DH had heard about the ketchup and it just so happened that the table next to us had them all when we were seated, so he asked them for one so he would not have to ask our server. She saw it and understood that he did not enjoy embarrassment. She was cool about it and did not make a big deal.
It can get noisy though especially when the horse race begins.

Was it a child that called her fat or an adult? That is so sad. We ate at WCC a few times when we stayed at WL. Breakfast was good - the usual. I wasn't that thrilled with the dinner food and it is pretty loud in there. It seemed like if you didn't want to be part of the craziness you didn't have to - I guess it depends on the servers that are there.

Re: Whispering Canyon Cafe
We ate there on our recent visit 12/3/2006. It was by far the best dining experience we had! I my opinion, the food was good, but our waitress was a riot! Her name was Suzanne aka Head-a-lettuce. We all left dinner with a full belly and big smile! We had expected the 50's prime time to be the best, but it was a dud!

I didn't mention my experience that time. I had HEARD they have all the dads stand up and sing a silly song to their daughters, and I really wanted to do this. So I asked "Suzy Lies-a-lot" about this. She told me she would check. Five minutes later she returns with a broom-stick horse and a microphone. She announces to the crowd, that I want to sing for my daughter, and since WDW is all about making dreams come true they are going to have me sing a solo. I then got to sing "You Are My Sunshine" as loudly as I could while galloping around the restaurant on the broomstick. ![]()
