I haven't eaten there but it's on my list of places we are going to try this summer. Look over the menu and see if you can find something you think you brother might like.

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

Hi: We have eaten at Mexico a few times. It's very nice. It is just like a nice Mexican restaurant that you might find in your hometown. They do have huge portions, as does every Disney restaurant, however, if he doesn't like mexican food in general, he won't like this one either.

I know, it's making me hungry just looking at the menu.

After looking at both menus we decided to try San Angel at lunch, it sounds a little more like what we like in Mexican food.

That looks good too and it looks similar to the Cantina de San Angel's menu (although I am sure it's better!)

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

We just ate there last week! The food is good, but it's Mexican, not "meat and potatoes".
You can get a steak, but it's prepared Mexican style. It was good, but a bit spicy.

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

We enjoyed eating there, but our favorite dinner in all of WDW is at the Cantina de San Angel just outside the pyramid. Eating dinner, sipping a margarita and watching the fireworks, what could be better I ask you!

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

That sounds wonderful, you're making me think we should skip the ADR and go with the cantina for a late dinner.

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

We're thinking of trying the Cantina for a counter service for lunch. Is everything spicy? Can you request mild? DH loves spicy, but I don't.

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

Just remember if you are going to go while the ride inside the pavilion is being rehabbed, the whole ride scene will be blocked off. The dining reservation lady told me that yesterday on the phone... I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but it might help if you are going any time soon...

Re: Mexico Pavillion restaurant question

We eat at San Angel every trip. I ate the steak and shrimp in Sept. (free DDP) but that's the only "meat and potato's" option that I remember.

Does anyone know when the ride is scheduled to re-open?

Actually it is not very spicey at all. Your hubby might want to carry a small bottle of hot sauce with him. You will love it, just get there a bit early so you can grab a table by the railings.
