which would you do?

I have 1 counter and 1 table service that I am not heartset on.

plan now: counter would be at MK (dinner) on the day we are there all day. This is the night we plan to stay for fireworks (other MK days we are there in am only, or for MNSSHP). another day we would have a table service that would be lunch at DTD or somewhere - not a park day (planning on capt jacks lunch now).

Now, I am wondering about leaving the park for a table service for dinner, and doing a counter service for lunch on the other day.

My question: if I move it around, would you prefer Ohana, Concourse or Chef Mickeys (or another) for the dinner (keeping in mind we want to see the fireworks at MK still that night & haven't been to any of those)?

and for the counter on the other day - woldgang puck express? (we are already doing EOS another day).

Thanks!

Re: which would you do?

I have been to all 3 of your sit down choices and liked all of them for different reasons but I think in this case I would go with 'Ohana.

I have heard good thing about Wolfgang Puck Express, however, if it were me I'D TOTALLY DO EARL AGAIN!!!!! When I was there last month, I found myself craving those darn sandwiches every day.

Table Service meal? I'd go with Concourse...not sure why. I usually say 'Ohana all the way, but I went last month and wasn't impressed like I usually am. Concourse is a very good steak house meal, if that's what you're into.

I totally agree, I would go with a second meal at Earl of Sandwich.

I said the same thing after our May trip but I think we are going to give it another try this summer.

Re: which would you do?

I would plan on O'hanna's for that night. You can easily slip away from the the MK, have dinner and slip back in to watch wishes. That or chef's.

Re: which would you do?

I have to agree with the Ohana's and Earl of Sandwich...you'll love them both

Worst comes to worst and from what I remember they pump in the fireworks music into Ohanas and you can see the show out the window....although I know it's not the same

Earl of Sandwich is so cheap to waste your counter service on

No it's not...it's about average. Each sandwich is $6...each dessert is $3. Each drink is $2. $11 plus tax, not bad IMHO.

Re: which would you do?

How long should I plan to be at Ohana's if we do that? I mean, I know it varies with each individual family...yada yada - but for those of you with kids, how long did your dinner typicaly last? Just getting an idea for a time for an adr that could get us back to the park. I really HAVE to see the fireworks in the park - I have never seen Tink & that is one of my missions this trip! LOL! Thanks!

ANd I do love EOS, but I think I may want 2 diff meals, instead of 2 at same place. But, if noone recommends WPE, we may do EOS again. OR we may just eat ice cream at Ghiradelli (my kinda lunch, lol) & use that counter service for breakfast another day! lol!

Re: which would you do?

Concourse Steakhouse will be your biggest bang for the buck. Chef Mickey's is a buffet and while dinner costs more than breakfast or lunch, it's still less than a three course sit down dinner. Ohana is a variation on a buffet, with them serving family style with endless portions, so the same economics apply here. WPExpress is probably a good idea for lunch.
For your dinner, also consider Kona Cafe.

I would stay in the park. Could you use your table service coupon in the MK at Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern and then you wouldn't have to leave the park??

Re: which would you do?

For your sit down you could also take the boat to Wilderness Lodge and eat at Whispering Canyon.

With a possible wait tme before you are seated and time to enjoy your meal I would allow about 2 hours for dinner. Your meal shouldn't take much more than an hour but you just don't know how long your may have to wait for a table and if your server is going to be over worked that night. Travel back to MK after dinner will be a 10 minute trip by monorail and maybe a bit longer if you walk. Allow 20 minutes for travel back and you should be safe.
