Re: Planet Hollywood questions...

I wouldn't waste my time. You'd do much better eating at one of the Rainforest Cafes (DTD or AK) or House of Blues.

Re: Planet Hollywood questions...

We had fun there. We ordered burgers and they were fine.

I wouldn't go out of my way just to eat there as there are so many choices in WDW, but there's nothing wrong with it. If you'r ein Downtown Disney and want a burger, go there. It just isn't "Disney-fied".

But at the same time, it's very akin to HardRock Cafe and All Star Sports Cafe: themed with lots of memorabilia, lots of noise, and big ole burgers are the house specialty.

If that's what you like, then that's your place.

Re: Planet Hollywood questions...

i really liked Planet Hollywood....I got the steak and my wife got the ribs. She cut hers in half and asked if i wanted to try some, I reached over tograb some ribs and I picked it up by the bone poking out and when I picked it up, I had nothing but bone in my hand. The meat was so tender it literally fell off the bone. For 2 people I think we paid maybe $30. It wasnt bad,and I liked the food.Im actually planning on going bck in december when we make our 2nd trip to WDW.

There's no way that meal was $30! The steak is $23 alone and so are the ribs. $23 for a steak isn't that bad though, actually...

I am glad you had such a good experience! I didn't HATE my time at Planet Hollywood, it was just so so. IMO, there are MUCH better dining experiences to be had all around The World.

WELL!

I can see I am already outvoted, but that's never stopped me before...

We LOVE Plamet Hollywood. The noise is a little high, but we really like to food, the atmosphere. When the kids were small, they always got the chicken fingers coated in Cap'n Crunch . They also have a shrimp sandwich that is to die for and for dessert, you gotta have a strawberry shortcake. It will feed 2 or 3!!

THERE - I SAID IT.

Re: Planet Hollywood questions...

My boys went, it was their first "dining" experience at WDW without the parents. They were 14 at the time and it allowed time for our date night. They really enjoyed the memorabilia and both "complained" that the portions were huge, but managed to eat it, dessert and all.

I find it interesting that they liked it but have no interest in going back.
Great burgers, interesting & loud.

Re: Planet Hollywood questions...

As a comparison, I'd eat at any Hard Rock Cafe anywhere. Planet Hollywood just doesn't do it for me.

I will chime in with you and ddoll. I went there with DBF is jan 05 and loved it. It wasn't the best meal in all of WDW, but it was hardly bad. I think the burgers are perfect and the atmosphere fun. I would go again if the opportunity presented itself, but would not go out of my way to get there. I think the rainforest cafe is a similar experience and tend to go there on my Animal kingdom days. PH is more of a lunch place to me...not a dinner place. I don't think they actually take ADR's do they?? summary of my rambles: try it for lunch if you are in the DTD area shopping. I wouldn't specifically make it a point to go to DTD just to eat there unless I intended to hang out there for the day.

Or if you had a coupon!

A lot of people try it for the first time because they are offered some kind of deal. Bargains are hard to come by on a Disney vacation, so you grab what you can.
