Buffets
DD (who will be doing the College Program) likes buffets, but Cape May was a disappointment when we ate there several years ago. Has there been any improvement to the Clambake?
And- where are the other buffets in WDW NOT in the parks? Thanks!

Re: Buffets
We love Boma at AKL. Its an adventure! We love trying all the different things we would never have ordered if it wasn't a buffet. Its a great place to try new things...the food is fantastic!

Re: Buffets
Try Boma at the AKL. It's a nice little buffet. The food while slightly ethnic, is very good and there are many things to choose from for picky eaters if you have any with you. Of course there is also 1900 park fare at the GF, chef mickey's
at the contemporary and I am sure there are more, but they are escaping me. I know both whispering canyon and o'hanna are a family style meal which isn't a buffet, but it's close. Have you ever tried ohanna? it's wonderful as long as you get a good server. The food is great regardless of service however, so it's at least worth the price.

Re: Buffets
We had dinner at the Cape May Cafe a couple of years ago and it was fantastic.
I cannot stand it when shellfish is overcooked and that was definitely not the case there. We enjoyed it. I have not tried any other buffets other than Crystal Palace, but you said you didn't want to know about park buffets ![]()

Re: Buffets
Dr. Teeth and our family have eaten at Cape May, Crystal Palace, and Chef Mickey's in the past year and Cape May was our favorite (with Crystal Palace a close second; we were not thrilled with Chef Mickey). Really nice seafood at Cape May (I agree with the post stating that the food is not overcooked -- so true!) and stuff for the non-seafood folks as well. And it simply is not as chaotic as Chef Mickeys.
That being said, I have heard nothing but very, very good things about Ohanas and Boma, so you can't go wrong!

Re: Buffets
We absolutely love
Chef Mickey's. It has great atmosphere and it's the best place to either start or end your vacation. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian is also delicious. One other place you might consider is Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It's a dinner show but the food is very good (burgers, chicken, hotdogs, corn, beans, slaw, macaroni & cheese, rolls, fruit, cake, lemonade, beer, wine). Although it's a bit more expensive, you're also getting dinner and a show and tax and gratuity is already included.

Re: Buffets
The true buffets are 1900's Park Fare at GF, of course Chef Mickey's, Cape May Cafe, Boma at AKL, Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness, and Fresh in the Dolphin outside parks, while Crystal Palace in MK, Hollywood and Vine in MGM, and Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK. Ohana, Garden Grill, and Akershus are all you can eat, but served family style. Whispering Canyon has all you can eat skillets, again served family style. If you're at WDW on Christmas morning and New Year's morning, the Yacht Club Galley has a brunch buffet with special items (prime rib and clam chowder).

Re: Buffets
Of all the places that we have eaten the only one I was not happy with was Hollywood and Vine. I really did not enjoy the food there.
