Dinners for our August trip

OK, so I am starting to think about my ADRs since I can make them in about a month! I have a list of dinners I'd like to book. Let me know your opinions, OK? I need to book SEVEN (7) dinners, so let me know your thoughts! Which would you leave out??

LE CELLIER - A MUST!!!! This is my favorite meal in all the World and NEVER disappoints - we might even do this one TWICE

SAN ANGEL INN - haven't been in a few years...want to try it again. I think it has the BEST atmosphere of any restaurant at WDW. I LOVE it and can't wait to go back!

SPOODLES - From all the hoopla I've heard about this place on here, I've GOT to try it!!! This will be a NEW place for us.

RESTAURANT MARRAKESH - We've never been there, but DH REALLY wants to try it (and check out the hot belly dancers! ) and I would like to try it, too

CONCOURSE STEAK HOUSE - Not definite for us, but we had a good meal there a couple of years ago and wanted to give it another shot

CORAL REEF - ?? - NOT SURE ABOUT THIS ONE...I am not a seafood lover, nor are my kids. But DH LOVES Seafood and NEVER gets to eat it. Would we all be happy there?

WHISPERING CANYON - ?? - I've never eaten dinner there, and I'd LOVE to try that skillet...RIBS! YUM!!!

MAMA MELROSE - ?? - Funny, I NEVER eat at MGM and thought maybe we would try a meal there this trip. Not sure, though...

GRAND FLORIDIAN CAFE - ?? - Don't really hear much about this place, but it seems nice and has decent menu

Lemme know what you think!!!!! Which 7 would YOU choose???

Re: Dinners for our August trip

You have some good spots picked out already!

If you want a nice quiet dinner (maybe kid-free) then I would suggest Artist Point at WL.

We just tried LTT at the MK this past trip and really liked dinner. It is served family style and the food choices make it seem like Thanksgiving. Good character interaction.

If you want a good inexpensive casual buffet, the Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness is very good. You can get there by boat from the MK.

Stop by the 50's Prime Time (they have a bar) and get a Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake to go. Really neat!

We also enjoy Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Sure it's loud and obnoxious but so are we.

Re: Dinners for our August trip

I haven't been to a few you mentioned, so I really can't give an onest opinion, but do not skip Marrakesh - you will not be dissappointed. As for San Angel Inn - Love the atmosphere, but the food didn't impress me.

Re: Dinners for our August trip

We are thinking of some of the ones on your list as well (haven't been to any). Le CEllier (*for sure), Marakesh (*for sure). We had decided not to go to Mama Melrose, then I saw pics of the food on another website (awesome to see food from diffrent restaraunts!) & we may change our minds - it looked so yummy. Whispering Canyon, Coral Reef & Spoodles menus didn't do that much for us. Concourse looks great - I'm leaning towards it. Have fun!!!!

We have been to Whispering Canyon Cafe and Mama Melrose and I would highly recommend both! We had lots of fun at WCC, and we really enjoyed our meal at MM!!

If it's your favorite, then definately do not leave it out.

If you haven't been there in awhile, then you should go for it.

SPOODLES - From all the hoopla I've heard about this place on here, I've GOT to try it!!! This will be a NEW place for us.
All the hupla makes me want to try it too, but it's not in the cards for our trip.

this one doesn't appeal to me in the least, but you should go because your DH should get a pick or two.
Quote:

I could never go here again and be ok with it. I hate the size of the restaurant and the noise level is just to much. I would just go to chef mickey's because it feels like you are there with the noise from that place flowing through.

llama loves this place and told me they have steak and chicken dishes so I think you will all be fine. I don't eat sea food either...DD does.

WHISPERING CANYON - ?? - I've never eaten dinner there, and I'd LOVE to try that skillet...RIBS! YUM!!!
I like the menu choices over the skillet. I am going back here again in august for a do over. Last trip wasn't all that great and I want to try it again.

I LOVE momma's. It really is my favorite. The food and service is always consistant for me. I try to go every trip.

This is the one I would leave out.

I think you will like Mama Melrose, we have liked it all the times we've been there for the Fantasmic package, and we can't wait to try San Angel Inn!

Re: Dinners for our August trip

You're making me hungry!

I say Marrakesh and Coral Reef are musts for your DH. You need to be able to woo him back in less than 5 years, lol (didn't he tell you he wanted a 5 year break?)

Spoodles--I can't get over how silly the name sounds, lol. I know people RAVE about it, but we have great Italian right around the corner with a similar atmosphere (well, from what I gather in reports and photos). I'd rather go for something WDWish, like WCC. I think your kids would have a blast there! Or if Italian is a must, I'd try something that was more themed, like MM

daisy, YES...he wants a 5 year hiatus!!!! Now he's come down to 3 years, but that still is not acceptable to me. I am begging for EVERY OTHER year...that's the LEAST he could do!!!!! (ha...he's "suffered" through 15 trips in 9 years!!!)

And everyone, money isn't an issue. We will be on the dining plan!

I would LOVE to go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast...we used to do it on every trip. Once again, DH is burned out and doesn't think the food is that great. He'd rather use our credits for dinner and eat breakfast with a counter service or just in our room.

Any other opinions?? Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it!!!

What about Garden Grill? Or Boma? We also really like Kona. They have some excellent dinner choices, and those desserts, OMG!!

About Spoodles: Don't order the lemon chicken! I really liked the Mediterranean Dips, but you have to be excited about olives.
