Have any of you ever done the rehitching ceremony at The Land in Epcot? Is this something that an unsuspecting husband would get irked at? :whistle:

I don't personally know of anyone who's done the rehitching ceremony, but here's the text from the Intercot Web site about what goes on. Sounds to me like that 100-second kiss in front of the entire restaurant might be a little embarrassing for an unsuspecting spouse.

At any rate, here it is:

"Rehitching Ceremony

Have you ever considered renewing your wedding vows while vacationing at Walt Disney World? Are you celebrating an Anniversary or just want to surprise your spouse? With a little advance planning it can be done.

The Rehitching Ceremony takes place at the Garden Grill restaurant, in the Land Pavilion, at Epcot. Your server acts as the clergy person. They read some fun vows for you to repeat. You have to kiss in front of the whole restaurant, often to the count of 100. You'll receive a special certificate to commemorate the event and a cake. Mickey, Chip and Dale have been known to attend the festivities.

You must request the ceremony when you make your priority seating arrangements at the restaurant. Tell the cast member when you phone that you want to get 'rehitched'. Also when you arrive at the restaurant remind the Staff at the podium. Arrangements can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE."

There was a member who did that within the last year. I'm going to try to do a search and find that thread. Wish me luck...if I can't find it, you might want to try a search also. I'm going to try to search for renewing vows and see what that pops up. Hopefully I'll be able to edit this with the new information :)


(edit)...Unfortunately I did a search and still couldn't find it, I'm horribly at searching though, so you still may want to try that. I know that it was a female member, and for some reason I'm thinking some things went wrong or were rushed??? Hopefully she'll read this thread though, and be able to tell you more about what to expect. I wish I could think of who it was. Sorry I couldn't be more help. :)

This sound so awesome. My DH and I are going to be in DW right after our first anniv so I think that I might have to surprise him with this. Heeeee :bandit :whistle:

Thanks to all for your help and opinions. Sounds kind of embarassing for DH so....IM GONNA DO IT!! LOL After being married for 17 years whats he gonna do? heeheehee :laugh
